Day 14 of Run Across India from Kanyakumari to Karakoram. 62 km got for the day. Joined by some amazing runners from Chennai. Morning was good but evening traffic was terrible to run through. But finally now I am out of this big city. PS - Little Dheersha did her 18 Km with me in evening. Chennai city got its new runner. Next is Vijayawada on 01st June. Absolutely no passion! • No Traffic Trauma: The roads are so wide and well planned that you actually reach your destination in 20 minutes. How am I supposed to finish my audiobooks or rethink my life choices during a 3 hour bumper to bumper commute? • Missing Action: Someone bumps into your vehicle, and they just say sorry and pay you instead of pulling out a hockey stick. No street fights, no "Tu jaanta nahi mera baap kaun hai." So dull. • Zero Aesthetic Culture: No underground drug or Udta Punjab vibes. Just boring, safe, sober families existing everywhere. Honestly, it’s unbearable. Please stay in your happening metro cities, enjoy spending half your life in traffic and keep breathing that sweet AQI 1000 air.

पिछले शनिवार लखनऊ में था, यूँ ही Phoenix United मॉल घूमने चला गया। उस दिन जो हुआ, वो शायद कभी भूल नहीं पाऊंगा। एक कपड़ों के स्टोर में T-shirt देख रहा था, समझ नहीं आ रहा था कौन सी लूँ। तभी वहाँ काम करने वाली एक लड़की पास आई, उसकी आवाज बहुत ही प्यारी थी। बोली - "Sir, अगर चाहो तो मैं कुछ अच्छे options दिखा सकती हूँ।" मैंने हाँ बोल दिया। पता नहीं क्यों, उसका तरीका बाकी sales वालों जैसा नहीं था। वो सिर्फ बेचने की कोशिश नहीं कर रही थी, सच में पसंद समझ रही थी। 3-4 T-shirts निकालकर दीं और बोली - ये सभी colors आप पर बहुत अच्छे लगेंगे। मैंने मज़ाक में कहा - आप हर लड़के को यही बोलती हो? हल्का सा हँसकर बोली - नहीं… कुछ लोगों पर सच में कुछ colors बहुत अच्छे लगते हैं। Trial room से एक T-shirt पहनकर बाहर आया। उसने एक सेकंड देखा और बस इतना कहा - "Perfect." उस एक शब्द ने बिना वजह चेहरे पर मुस्कान ला दी। फिर मैंने चारों T-Shirt लेने का मन बना लिया। थोड़ी देर casually बातें हुईं, पता चला पढ़ाई के साथ part-time job करती है। Billing के वक्त धीरे से पूछा - "Sir… आप अक्सर यहाँ आते हो?" मैंने कहा - "शायद अब आने लगूं।" वो मुस्कुरा दी। मैं निकल गया, लेकिन उस दिन shopping से ज़्यादा उसकी बातें याद रह गईं। अब जब भी मॉल का नाम सुनता हूँ, सबसे पहले वही लड़की याद आती है - जिसकी smile ने पूरा दिन अच्छा बना दिया था।
