@VasuBhadja @swing_ka_sultan This is brilliant stuff Vasu, much needed as none of the tradejournal guys have built.. I am not sure if in "Insights" Section You can provide some recommendations based on the trading performance, as what should be the optimal SL, If SL % was increased by x% what would be ROAR

Do a scenario analysis, Akshay. Let your trading data tell you what the right approach is. To do this is to create different scenarios. For example, what if your stop loss was 2.5%, 3%, or 4%? Would the improvement in your win rate be significant enough to compensate for the smaller position size or the higher risk? Then do the opposite. What if your stop loss was 1.5% or even 1%? How much does your win rate drop? Does the larger position size on winners, or the reduced risk per trade, more than compensate for that decline? We use many such scenario analyses and exercises in @tradetm_org. The best way to learn and improve your approach is to let your own trading data tell you what to do, rather than relying on either your opinion or mine.

@swing_ka_sultan Hi Sir , were Suven and PCJeweller reversal plays ? Or Suven required 1 more day of selling and PCJeweller was not in a eprfect straight momentum before the fall

These were the top trades on my #Reversals Watchlist today. #IOLCP was the best of the pack, but didn't give me an entry. However, since this was intended to be a holding trade, I'll look to reattempt it tomorrow as a #WickPlay setup. Both #BAJAJCONS and #MSTCLTD were weaker candidates and were considered primarily from an intraday perspective. While I'm less interested in #BAJAJCONS from here, I can still look to reattempt #MSTCLTD tomorrow as a #WickPlay. The rest will depend on how the final trading list comes out after scanning and shortlisting.

@swing_ka_sultan Feeback loop is everything in trading, and a trade journal which truly encapsulates Chirag Sir's principles. All it takes is uploading a tradebook, and analysing the generated data on a weekend. This is the difference between success and failure.

#IKIO: This would've been a wonderful trade had the stock opened with a gap-up into the wick, creating a classic #WickPlay setup. However, given the current market conditions, the probability of a strong gap-up open is relatively low. Now ask yourself this: What other tradable conditions would still fulfill the same purpose, even if they don't satisfy the visual criteria of a #WickPlay? Think in terms of variations, not visual patterns. That's how you build an arsenal of setups. In such situations your edge will be too high as others continue to trade from visual memory alone.

@VikrantK2000 @tradetm_org @swing_ka_sultan Yes H is not for entry, just to check the quality of breakout & decide trade management accordingly..you may reduce position on fade, or wait next day to see if it further fades or regains strength to turn out as wick play entry..and if D1 closes good, you may plan D2 pyramid..

@tradetm_org @swing_ka_sultan As far as I remember 2: no 2 days up in a row, previous day should not be up more than 2% is a must L: Linear, Y: Young, N: No big rejection of 4% or more down bars, one is still ok, should not be 2 C: Consolidation quality, H: Close near high (at least 70% day’s gain retained)

@VikrantK2000 @PradeepBonde I'll post the stock selection video today. Go through the explanation of #BALAMINES and then look at today's chart. That's exactly what I was trying to explain. I'll also write a separate note on this topic, as it's one of the questions I get asked most often.

#SA FIRST, THEN SETUPS When @PradeepBonde introduced the concept of #SituationalAwareness in trading, he emphasized two critical layers: a) What is the market doing, and what is likely to happen next? b) What does that mean for my trading objectives? Which setups are likely to have a higher probability of working in this environment? Most traders fail to connect these two layers. They may have a view on the market, but they never ask how that view should influence the setups they trade. The core reason is simple, they only know one setup. Every evening, they run the same two or three scans, go through every stock one by one, and try to match each chart against a visual template stored in their memory. Whatever matches gets shortlisted. If nothing matches, they simply sit out. That defeats the whole purpose. This is a technical flaw, and no amount of hard work can compensate for it. Instead, spend five minutes every evening asking yourself: a) What is happening in the market? b) What is the most probable outcome? c) If that outcome unfolds, which setups are most likely to work? Let me explain this with yesterday's example. Step 1 – What is happening in the market? Yesterday evening, the market sold off sharply following renewed Middle East tensions and Trump's comments about potentially cancelling the deal. The news triggered an abrupt decline. Step 2 – What can happen next? Before jumping to possible scenarios, ask yourself one more question: Does this issue still have the ability to significantly impact the market? In my view, the market has already largely discounted this issue. Therefore, the probability is much higher that such news will only trigger occasional knee-jerk reactions rather than a sustained decline. Whatever scenarios we consider should be viewed through this lens. Now, let's get into two broad possibilities: a) TACO - Tough Talks, No Action. The more probable outcome. If the market senses that the rhetoric won't translate into action, it is likely to recover quickly and open higher. b) An actual escalation – A much less probable outcome. It could trigger panic initially, but since this issue has largely lost its ability to exert sustained pressure on the market, even such a sell-off would likely be followed by a reversal. Step 3 – Which setups are most likely to work? Since the thesis is to play for a recovery, the highest-probability opportunities are likely to come from three types of setups: a) Momentum Suppression These are stocks that were showing excellent momentum before the news hit. The sudden market-wide sell-off abruptly interrupted their advance, creating an opportunity. My first priority is these stocks, with the objective of finding a Wick Play entry. If the market opens strong, the probability of a sharp recovery in these names is very high. Examples: #IOLCP, #BALAMINES One important point: don't settle for mediocre setups here. Find the absolute best momentum stocks and focus on those. These are my favorite setups in the event of a strong opening. b) Strong Closings These are the wild ones - stocks that remained largely unfazed by the market sell-off. Their momentum was so strong that even the broader market couldn't make much of a dent. Whether the market opens strong or weak, these can often be traded as D2 entries. A gap-down reversal offers the best risk-reward, as it provides an excellent entry while the underlying strength remains intact. Examples: #UNICHEMLAB, #SGMART c) Extended Declines These are stocks that were already in momentum but experienced a sharp, fast sell-off, leaving them looking stretched on the downside. They can work well in both scenarios. A gap-up open signals immediate recovery, while a market-wide gap-down followed by a reversal can create a powerful slingshot move. Examples: #IKIO, #QUADFUTURES, #HEXAGON, #IXIGO #KERNEX I hope this framework and these examples help you understand how I approach stock selection, especially on days when market conditions and news flow play an important role. Merging Situational Awareness with your setups - or better yet, identifying the SA first and then selecting the appropriate setups - can significantly improve the quality of your trades. Later today, I'll try to upload a video from yesterday's @tradetm_org workshop, where we went through the stock selection and prioritization process in real time. I hope that helps you see the live implementation of the framework explained above.

If you see the Market Wizards, most smaller accounts that grow into large ones do so in two ways: either by taking on higher per-trade risk or by trading more frequently. More frequent trading with controlled risk is better.
mcdreamy@otto_8887

@PradeepBonde would you say it makes sense for smaller accounts to risk more or is it generally a good idea to aim for below 1% for all account sizes?

BAR BY BAR REPLAY: WHAT PROS SEE THAT RETAIL TRADERS NEVER WILL First entry, stopped out. You brush it off, tell yourself you were early. Second entry, stopped out again. This time it hurts a little more. You start wondering if it's you, not the setup. So you move on. A few days later the stock is up 30% and somehow everyone around you saw it coming except you. This time we ran into that exact situation live, and showed exactly how we worked through it in real time. Watch here: youtu.be/15U7i2wwQlI

@PradeepBonde How do you manage overtrading when there are a lot of setups available ? And everything seems to be breaking out of a tight range ? Do you fix a daily limit on the no of stocks to be purchased or some amount of open risk is fixed ?
