@Villaste1 @HarrySymeou He’s inconsistent, incredibly patchy. Winning the Europa league means nothing. No doubt he can improve if he goes to a bigger club with a better manager but still way too risky for that sort of money. Will stay at Villa in that case

Had a fair few replies from Villa fans after I said I felt £130m for Morgan Rogers is too much. The reality is, the market has gone nuts & so while Villa are well within their rights to look around at other deals and price their player accordingly, we’re also entitled to feel that’s an excessive amount of money. Two things can be true at once 🤷🏻‍♂️

£130m for Morgan Rogers? Aston Villa must be joking. I knew they'd use the Elliot Anderson deal as a benchmark after his reported £116m move to Manchester City, but somehow they've convinced themselves Rogers is worth even more. Based on what exactly? They're the same age. Both had excellent seasons. Both are England internationals. Yet Villa want everyone to believe Morgan Rogers is suddenly a £130m player. This is what happens when clubs don't actually want to sell but are too scared to say "not for sale." Instead, they slap a ridiculous price tag on the player and hope people call it ambition. Let's be serious. Rogers is a very good footballer, but £130m is the kind of money reserved for players who consistently dominate at the highest level. He's nowhere near that conversation yet. At this rate, every club with one good young English player will start demanding £150m. The market is becoming a joke.

Ignore the reports, Arsenal are willing to pay what's required for Morgan Rogers. The club is willing to paid up to £100m which within what Aston Villa wants. They initially wanted to pay around £85m but Villa stood firm. I fully expect Morgan Rogers to play for Arsenal next season.

Will it's not like I'm his mate so could never say with certainty BUT it has been widely reported almost daily for three weeks 'the player wants to join the champions' and 'personal terms agreed' and 'Villa getting CL is not enough to change his mind' so I mean it stands to reason he wants to go if this is what's been reported consistently for weeks mate.

It's not that outrageous. The player wants to leave, not only that, he wants to join Arsenal specifically, I think we can agree those two things are both true? Now add in that Villa must make sales by 30th June. If you think about £80m is that 'this gets the deal done' amount.
