The enforcement action followed public concerns about activities along the riverbank, which were found to be in violation of environmental regulations.
All washing bay activities have been stopped, and the site cleared to protect River Nabuyonga from pollution and degradation.

FRAUD ALERT
Beware of Impersonators Posing as NEMA Staff
@nemaug wishes to alert the public about a fraudulent individual identified as Moses Ndawula Kimera (Tel: 0764 840 197) who is impersonating a NEMA staff member attached to the Executive Director’s office.
This individual is reportedly extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public in Kyenjojo District, falsely claiming to represent NEMA.
We have received multiple complaints from victims, some presenting forged receipts and fake signatures, all linked to this same individual.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
NEMA does NOT authorise individuals to collect money on its behalf without official documentation.
Always verify any payment requests directly through official NEMA channels.
Do NOT engage or make payments to unauthorised persons.
REPORT IMMEDIATELY:
If you have been approached or defrauded, please report to the nearest police station or to NEMA offices through our official contacts.

Iran's IRGC has declared 18 major companies — Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Nvidia, Tesla, Palantir, Boeing, Intel, IBM, Cisco, HP, Oracle, Dell, GE, JPMorgan, Spire Solutions, and UAE's G42 — as "terrorist spy companies" and "legitimate targets" in the Middle East starting April 1 (8 PM Tehran time).
Employees have been urged to evacuate workplaces immediately over alleged AI/ICT roles in assassinations.
This is classic escalation rhetoric amid proxy setbacks. It likely signals more cyber or disruption threats than direct physical strikes on Gulf operations, but it adds to regional tension. Markets have so far shrugged it off.
What do you think serious risk or more bark than bite?
BREAKING!!!
📛FRAUD ALERT!!❌
On 23rd March 2026, a joint team from EPF and EPPU at NEMA South Western Uganda Mbarara Field Office carried out an intelligence-led operation in Mbarara City.
The operation led to the arrest of Owomugisha M., a serial conman involved in forging Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) certificates across Western Uganda.
Investigations revealed that Owomugisha, together with accomplices still at large, forged two ESIA certificates for fuel stations located in:
1. Bikurungu, Rukungiri District
2. Mahyoro, Kitagwenda District
Forgery of ESIA certificates is a serious offence, as these documents are vital in ensuring that projects meet environmental and social safety standards before implementation.
The suspect will be presented to court tomorrow for hearing.
Report any suspicious environmental activity to NEMA via 0800 014 444.
