@cara__jackson @SarahCohodes I agree with your thinking though. A longer version of the paper included a discussion of whether steeper returns beyond year two could be driven by improvements in school match post-TFA (h/t @KiraboJackson ) but Id need a bigger sample to get at this

@cara__jackson @SarahCohodes @cara__jackson that’s a great point and it tracks with my understanding of charter recruiting as well. This analysis excludes charter tchrs entirely (data constraints). If a TFA tchr moved to a charter school, they’d be dropped from sample at that point

No, I don’t think that teachers lose autonomy or professionalism by being offered unit plans, lessons, and instructional materials developed by experienced teachers with subject matter expertise and that can be used, built on, adapted, and/or reflected on.
