I also don’t think OTP’s and OTS’s think too much about the curation logistics side of TEDx. A trick I always use when I consider a possible idea is once I think it passes the test of being interesting and can fit a content gap, I have to think about whether that talk is difficult logistically or not. After all, for virtual events, you most likely have to ask your speakers to film themselves. You have to balance between having good quality + creativeness vs. what your speakers can pull off. This can be different between in-person vs. virtual events. OT/OTA schools don’t teach students professional quality film/TV production. I have to learn these aspects on my own when I become serious about being in charge during COVID. This is not “next level” thinking. This is thinking ahead so that you can avoid getting stuck in a quagmire later. If OTP’s and OTS’s want to be in the driver’s seat of TEDx event, visualizing what each future TEDx talk would look like before production is critical before accepting any idea and then also when they and their teams work on it with their speakers.

@DrEmmaBeckett I’m so disappointed to hear that! There are nice people out there - I slipped (sand on paving) at Coogee, fell flat on my back and hit my head. A kind man stopped to help me. Bonus- my Apple Watch was ready to call emergency services if I didn’t respond that I was ok!!

I just tripped over, just walking, in a very public place. Not one single person asked me if I was ok, the 20 odd witnesses completely ignored me, except one random woman who did a kind of disgusted “tut” said “oh god” and rolled her eyes like me falling wrecked her day.
