@StroteBook I started one this morning because I wanted to try it out and research it for a story I am writing that publishes tomorrow.

So, big question of the day:
How many have opened a Thr#ads account?
How many are planning to? What's the strategy?
Me? Not yet. But maybe. It will likely take off as a true competitor to this place.
Who knows...

@DianaVilic Live in the moment. You never know how many moments you and the people you love have.

in all my years of being in school as a student & being a teacher I have never once witnessed anyone pledging allegiance to a flag. maybe some schools in the South? certainly not mainstream America. sounds like an old rerun of "Gunsmoke."

Dear writers,
Remember, rejection can be a way to improve your work and how you present it. It’s easy to see rejection as failure, but try to see it as an opportunity.
Keep a positive attitude, even when it seems impossible. Good results will come your way!

A thread from those who have warned (in vain) about #AI

Maybe I can RT.

I'm not arguing w the fact that AI poses risks. I AM ceaselessly annoyed by the pattern This is not new or novel. It was women - @timnitGebru @mmitchell_ai, me, et al - who rang the AI alarm years ago & were retaliated against, pushed out for doing so. nytimes.com/2023/05/01/tec…

@The_GrammarGeek Now I question which is the better word choice. Before it was automatic -- I almost always used fewer and more than.
English

@The_GrammarGeek I have typed "fewer," "less," "over" and "more than" about a dozen times this last week...and I think about them every time. I even used "over" once. I thought it might kill me, but I did it!

Question: I'm writing an article about the shuttering of @BuzzFeedNews, who will shift their news content to @HuffPost. Did anyone know HuffPo was still a thing? I did not.

The Texas Senate has passed two bills that are unconstitutional.
If they become law, everyone who voted for the bill - plus Abbott for signing them - should have to PERSONALLY pay for all litigation.
Assuming this is a ploy to demonstrate the SCOTUS refusal to honor precedent.

@ninatypewriter I was writing a story that included something about Meta who used Twitter to make an announcement that isn't even in their own newsroom. Meta is (probably) paying for the checkmark and their logo on their @MetaNewsroom acct. The irony.🙄
