In 2019, workers excavating land for a geothermal power plant near Ngāwhā, New Zealand uncovered a giant kauri tree buried nearly 30 feet underground. The tree was enormous, stretching almost 65 feet long and more than 8 feet wide. Scientists later discovered it had lived through the Laschamp Excursion around 42,000 years ago, a period when Earth’s magnetic field weakened dramatically and cosmic radiation flooded the planet. Locked inside its 1,600 growth rings was a year by year record of that event. Researchers believe the tree may preserve evidence of intense solar storms, atmospheric upheaval, expanding ice sheets, violent weather shifts, and a world experiencing extreme environmental stress. Some scientists even suggest this period may have contributed to widespread megafauna extinctions and the collapse of Neanderthal populations. For over 42,000 years, the tree remained buried in silence, preserving what may be one of the most detailed natural records of an ancient global catastrophe ever discovered.

मधु प्रकृति का अमृत। किन्तु आयुर्वेद कहता है कि अमृत भी यदि अनुचित विधि से लिया जाए, तो वही शरीर के लिए हानिकारक बन सकता है। आजकल प्रातः उष्ण जल में मधु और निम्बू मिलाकर पीने की सलाह अत्यन्त सामान्य हो गई है। परन्तु शास्त्र इस विषय में स्पष्ट सावधानी बताते हैं। आचार्य वाग्भट अष्टांग हृदय में लिखते हैं “न चोष्णं मधु भुञ्जीत” “उष्णमुष्णाम्बुना सार्धं विशेषान्मरणाय हि” अर्थात् उष्ण मधु अथवा उष्ण जल के साथ मधु का सेवन अत्यन्त हानिकारक माना गया है। आयुर्वेद के अनुसार मधु योगवाही द्रव्य है। यह जिस द्रव्य के साथ लिया जाता है, उसके गुणों को गहराई तक शरीर में पहुँचाता है। उचित अनुपान के साथ यह औषधि की भाँति कार्य करता है, किन्तु उष्णता के साथ इसके गुण विकृत होकर आम (विषैले अवशेष) उत्पन्न कर सकते हैं। यही आम धीरे-धीरे स्रोतों में अवरोध उत्पन्न कर अनेक दीर्घकालिक विकारों का कारण बनता है। आधुनिक विज्ञान भी इसी दिशा में संकेत देता है। शोधों के अनुसार ४०°C से अधिक ताप पर मधु में HMF (Hydroxymethylfurfural) नामक यौगिक बनने लगता है, जिसे अधिक मात्रा में शरीर के लिए हानिकारक माना गया है। सेवन की शुद्ध विधि मधु को सदैव सामान्य तापमान वाले जल, शीतल दुग्ध अथवा सम-शीत द्रव्यों के साथ ही ग्रहण करें। अल्प मात्रा पर्याप्त मानी गई है। प्रातः रिक्त उदर सेवन श्रेष्ठ माना जाता है। आयुर्वेद केवल पदार्थ नहीं सिखाता वह सेवन का विवेक भी सिखाता है। यही सूक्ष्मता शास्त्र का वास्तविक विज्ञान है। Desi Alchemist Ayurveda & Rasashastra for Every Home #DesiAlchemist #Ayurveda #Rasashastra #AyurvedicWisdom #honey

और आज @EduMinOfIndia को यह निर्णय वापस लेना पड़ा। मुझे कई लोगों के कॉल आए कि यदि यह लागू हो गया तो स्कूल बंद होने लगेंगे। पहले SMC की बकलोली हर प्राइवेट स्कूल में हो रही थी, अब इसे केवल सरकारी वित्तपोषित विद्यालयों में (आंशिक या पूर्ण) ही लागू किया जाएगा। अच्छा है कि सरकार ने सुना और निर्णय उचित रूप से संशोधित हुआ।

प्रधान, सरकारी नाकामी और CBSE स्कूलों की नई SMC धर्मेंद्र प्रधान @dpradhanbjp जाते-जाते एक और कांड कर के जा रहा है। वैसे प्राइवेट स्कूल, जिसमें सरकार एक पैसा नहीं देती, उनमें SMC (स्कूल मैनेजमेंट कमिटी) में 75% अभिवावकों का होना अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है। यानी, स्कूल के मालिक अब यह तय नहीं करेंगे कि स्कूल कैसे चले। ऊपर से आपको लगेगा कि यह तो अच्छी बात है, स्कूल मनमानी फीस लेते हैं, अब नकेल बँधेगी। हालाँकि ऐसा कुछ नहीं है। फीस नियंत्रित करना है तो ब्रैकेट बना दो, फ्रेमवर्क बना दो कि कितनी फैसिलिटी पर कितनी फीस मान्य है। एसी और स्वीमिंग वाले स्कूल की फीस आपके बगल के आठ कमरों वाले स्कूल के फीस के बराबर नहीं होगी। हाँ, यूनिफॉर्म और किताब के नाम पर बाध्यता बंद होनी चाहिए। और ये कार्य वहाँ करो जहाँ सरकार पैसे देती है। खैर, अब ये जो SMC है, उसमें 75% अभिभावक होंगे, तो स्कूल का पैसा कहाँ खर्च होगा, वही तय करेंगे। कौन से शिक्षक पढ़ाएँगे, वही तय करेंगे। किस शिक्षक की कितनी सैलरी होगी, वही तय करेंगे। इस कमिटी में वस्तुतः स्कूल के मालिक के अलावा सब हैं। 8% स्थानीय प्रशासन के लोग, 8% शिक्षक, 8% में आंगनवाड़ी, आशा बहू एवम् अन्य स्थानीय लोग होंगे। सरकारी बना नहीं सकते, वहाँ से पैसा आता नहीं, तो प्राइवेट का दोहन करो। और तो और, ये कमिटी ही यह तय करेगी कि स्कूल अपनी बाउंड्री बनाने से ले कर लैब बनवाने, स्मार्ट क्लास का काम या अन्य बड़े कार्य किस ठेकेदार को दे। यानी, अब अभिभावक यह बताएँगे कि स्कूल जिस ठेकेदार से कम में काम करा रहा है उसकी जगह वो अभिभावकों के बीच के किसी व्यक्ति को ठेका दें, वह भी PWD रेट पर! सरकार इस पर यही कहेगी कि ‘ये स्कूल और स्कूल के ट्रस्टी की मनमानी रोकने के लिए है’। फिर तो सरकार को हर दुकान, हर कम्पनी में ‘उपभोक्ता की कमिटी’ बना देनी चाहिए कि पारले का बिस्कुट कितने में बिकेगा, मारुति की कार कितने में आनी चाहिए। प्राइवेट का मतलब फिर क्या होता है? सरकार नकारी है, घटिया शिक्षा देती है इसलिए उसका लोड प्राइवेट स्कूल उठाते हैं। वो मनमानी न करें, इसलिए आप एक रेगुलेशन ले कर आते हैं। प्राइवेट स्कूल को @cbseindia29 तब रिकग्नाइज करती है जब उसके पास कुछ मूलभूत सुविधाएँ हों: लैब है, स्मार्ट क्लास है, सीसीटीवी है, ग्राउंड है, शिक्षकों की डिग्री क्या है, कितने बच्चों पर कितने शिक्षक हैं आदि। क्या यह फ्रेमवर्क काफी नहीं है? या अब माता-पिता ही तय करेंगे कि उनके बच्चे को जिस शिक्षक ने डाँटा, अब उसे निकाला जाए? क्या माता-पिता बताएँगे कि स्मार्टबोर्ड का टेंडर फलाने की जगह ढिमका को दिया जाए क्योंकि वो इनके मित्र हैं? जब सरकार वित्तीय सहायता नहीं देती, तो वह उसके आर्थिक विषयों में इतना हस्तक्षेप क्यों करना चाहती? तुमने गाँव के स्कूलों में पंचायत समिति का बवासीर डाल रखा है जो ग्रामीण राजनीति के कारण वहाँ भी नकारापन फैलाती दिखती है। सरकारी शिक्षक जनगणना से ले कर चुनाव ड्यूटी और सामूहिक विवाह तक में ड्यूटी दे रहे होते हैं। दाल-चावल का हिसाब रखना होता है, वह अलग। RTE के माध्यम से, अपनी नाकामियों को छुपाने के लिए आपने प्राइवेट में भी गरीब बच्चों के लिए व्यवस्था की। सरकारी में क्यों नहीं डालते? क्योंकि आप जानते हो वहाँ रद्दी शिक्षा मिलती है। प्राइवेट आपका लोड कम करता है, और आप वहाँ 75% माता-पिता के हाथों में नियंत्रण देना चाहते हैं। अब ये जो गुलाबी बात कही जा रही है, उसका फॉलआउट ये नहीं जानते। स्कूल बंद होने लगे, तो क्या सरकार स्कूल खोलेगी? जिस माता-पिता को विद्यालय मनमानी वाला लगता है, उनके पास विकल्प है कि वो दूसरे विद्यालय में चले जाएँ। आपको एसी चाहिए बच्चों के लिए तो आपको पैसे भी देने पड़ेंगे। पुनः कहूँगा कि यूनिफॉर्म-पुस्तक का केवल डिजाइन, नाम और सिलेबस स्कूल को देना चाहिए। बच्चों को स्वतंत्रता हो कि वो कहाँ से लें। फीस का ब्रेकेट तय करे सरकार स्कूल की सुविधाओं के आधार पर। इससे इतर यदि निजी स्वामित्व के विद्यालयों में माता-पिता को 75% नियंत्रण दिया गया तो समाजवाद तो आ जाएगा, पर समाजवादी पैरेंट्स के बच्चों को पढ़ाने के लिए विद्यालय नहीं बचेंगे।

Neighbour who is a government officer bought a Husky last year for around ₹1 lakh. Now during 45°C summers, the dog has to stay inside an AC room just to survive. Even in the evening, it struggles with the heat outside. People say they love dogs, but then buy breeds that are not even meant for Indian weather, mostly for status and show off. If you genuinely love dogs, adopt a stray. India already has millions of dogs that are naturally adapted to this climate. She is my Banwari Lal

A classic song by Mannadey from the 1969 movie Talash. O. P. Ralhan initially didn't want Manna Dey to sing this complex classical song and requested Mukesh. However, music director S.D. Burman stood his ground firmly, insisting that Mukesh could not handle the classical intricacies of the track and that only Manna Dey could do it. The song is a brilliant fusion. Stingray reproduction is one of the most alien systems in vertebrate biology, and the stress birth you're watching is the least weird part. Stingrays are ovoviviparous. The eggs hatch inside the mother's body and the pups develop in her uterus, but there's no placenta. No umbilical cord. No blood supply connecting mother to offspring. The embryo burns through its yolk sac in early gestation, and then something happens that almost no other vertebrate does: it starts eating before it's born. The uterine wall secretes a lipid-rich fluid called histotroph, sometimes called "uterine milk." The unborn pups drink it through their mouths and absorb it through their gill filaments. This system is so calorie-dense that embryos gain 1,680 to 4,900% of their body weight during late gestation. A 2021 study on red stingrays found the milk shifts composition across trimesters, with lipid content spiking mid-pregnancy and specific fatty acids like C16:1 acting as lipokines to accelerate fat metabolism in the embryo. Now here's the engineering problem that creates. If the embryo is eating and drinking inside the womb, it's producing waste. In mammals, the placenta handles that. Stingrays solved it differently. Researchers found that the embryonic intestine is physically sealed shut until just before birth. The waste accumulates inside the pup's body for the entire pregnancy. To make this work, the embryonic intestine is 400 to 600% the proportional size of an adult's, and the intestinal walls are structurally modified to extract water from the stored fecal matter so the pup doesn't bloat. The embryo is essentially its own sewage treatment plant. The stress birth in this video is a separate mechanism. A study across multiple elasmobranch species found that 85% of pregnant blue stingrays deliver immediately upon capture. Across all live-bearing shark and ray species, about a quarter of pregnant females lose pups when caught. The leading theory is a stress hormone cascade that overloads the smooth muscle system, causing the uterus to contract involuntarily. Some researchers think it's adaptive: eject the pups so they can swim free from a dying mother. Others think the animal simply loses control of its body under extreme physiological stress. Either way, those pups come out fully formed, fully independent, and capable of feeding themselves within minutes. Zero parental care after birth. The mother's entire investment ends the moment the pup clears the uterine opening. An animal with no placenta, no umbilical cord, and no postnatal care built a reproductive system that manufactures its own milk, seals its embryos' intestines shut for months, and ejects fully functional offspring under threat. 350 million years of cartilaginous fish evolution produced a birth strategy that makes mammalian pregnancy look like a rough draft.

Her name was Shubha Shankaranarayan. She was 21 years old, a law student in Bengaluru. She was in a relationship with Arun Varma, her 19 year old college junior. Her father did not approve and arranged her engagement to someone else. On November 30, 2003, Shubha got engaged to B.V. Girish, a 27 year old software engineer. His family celebrated. His future seemed set. Three days later, Shubha called Girish and suggested they spend some time together before the wedding. She proposed dinner and then a stop near HAL Airport to watch planes take off from the viewpoint on Inner Ring Road. He agreed. While Girish stood looking at the runway, three men attacked him from behind with a motorcycle shock absorber. Shubha stood nearby and screamed at the attackers to stop, pretending to be shocked. Girish suffered severe head injuries. He died in hospital the next morning. His family filed a police complaint. At first, investigators found nothing. Girish had no enemies, and suspicion did not fall on Shubha because the engagement had happened just days earlier. Then police reviewed the engagement video. Shubha appeared unhappy and disinterested throughout. Her expressions did not match someone who had just gotten engaged. Investigators dug deeper. They discovered that Shubha had made 73 phone calls and exchanged numerous messages with Arun Varma on the day of the murder. When confronted with the evidence, she confessed. The murder had been planned even before the engagement. Shubha wanted to be with Arun Varma, so she, Arun, and two hired men planned to kill Girish. Girish had been engaged for just three days. In July 2010, all four were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. The Karnataka High Court later upheld the verdict. In 2025, the Supreme Court also upheld all four life sentences. The Supreme Court observed: "Shubha chose a tragic and unacceptable route to address her personal issues, which led to the loss of a young and innocent life." He went to watch planes take off with his fiancee. He never came home. Repost this. Some stories should never disappear.

Top 100 CBSE schools charge ₹18 lakh/year + “voluntary donation”. Same fee buys 18 acres in the village where the child’s tongue came from. We murdered Bhojpuri, Maithili, Tulu, Kodava for a fake British accent. Then sold Duolingo and Grammarly to fix what we broke. Every “English honours” degree is a death certificate for one Indian language. GDP goes up with every red underline on a child’s Hindi essay.
