@Vohkun That’s a great question! I usually hand-draw simpler backgrounds, but for more complex ones, I use 3D tools as assistance. This piece took around 50–60 hours to complete, not including the time spent gathering references. Hope that answers your question!

Taking line art less seriously was honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s saved me a lot of time when drawing. I mean, what’s the point of making the line art super clean when I’m just going to overpaint most of it at the end anyway?

@DopplerFoxcoon Repeated customers are great! Working with them is a lot easier because you would already know on how to communicate with them. Plus, the communication is usually a lot more chill due to the trust you've made with them before

Do artists like repeat customers or do you get tired of drawing the same character multiple times

@RileyTheFox_ Well I guess this is why I do think it’s better to commission someone through commission platforms instead of through dm’s. Having actual deadlines that have consequences does make people work the way they’re supposed to

when the artist you’ve been waiting over a year for a commission from opens up for ‘emergency commissions’

You can do a big, super detailed, great composition drawing in here, but if the algo decides to not let people see it, or there is no audience for that in the first place, then that post most likely wont grow lol. Heck, the biggest likes I have in this site was a meme post of another illustration that only got a hundred likes when I posted it in the past.
