This is Adam Hoffman, a 49-year-old Waco, TX attorney. He faced life without parole for repeatedly raping a young boy. Texas AG Ken Paxton offered him 1 day in jail and no need to register as a sex offender. A judge increased his sentence to a whopping 60 days. He gets out in June. Not an immigrant. Not a trans person. Not a Black or brown person. Every MAGA accusation is a confession. Full story: letsaddresstexas.substack.com/p/ken-paxtons-…

“In the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century, President Donald J. Trump has created a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund to finance the insurrectionists and paramilitary groups that commit violence in his name.” That’s how one of the three lawsuits filed to challenge Trump’s slush fund begins. open.substack.com/pub/joycevance…

#BREAKING: Laurie Garrett: “Can I add one very important set of data points? In 2024, our USAID commitment to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was more than a BILLION dollars. Last year, brace yourself, $67 million. Nearly every single hospital, clinic, pharmacy in all of DRC was wholly or partially dependent on USAID & HHS support to maintain supplies and to deliver what people needed, and that’s GONE. Pharmacies are empty, stores are empty, the clinics are gone…so even if you didn’t have #Ebola, according to humanitarian organizations…300,000 MORE people have DIED in the DRC since USAID was cut, 300,000.”😢

Facts: the 1/6 mob caused 5 people to die, 140 LE officers to suffer severe injuries like cracked ribs, brain injuries, smashed spinal disks & more. And many more minor injuries and trauma. With 1000s of hours of video including from the rioters themselves it was the most recorded crime in US history (we prosecutors rarely have this much direct evidence). Approx 260 trials & only 2 people were acquitted (that’s a phenomenal record). Many defendants pleaded guilty (because they were). Not one defendant won a motion for selective or malicious prosecution or disclosure violations. Some of the judges overseeing cases were Trump appointed. Defendants had every legal process and rights and these were some of the most carefully scrutinized cases by DOJ ever. The highest sentences were the most serious offenders and/or people with extensive criminal histories. (Some judges questioned why the govt wasn’t seeking higher sentences actually). ⚖️

The deal with Iran will go down as one of the most incompetent ever made. The U.S. lost on virtually every point. We just don't win anymore!

Think about what motivates billionaires. They didn't get to where they are by being sentimental. They're paying the piper because if they pay the piper, Trump lays off their business. Bezos got hammered in the first term, so he's not doing that again. Suddenly there's a $40 million documentary on the wife. Conspicuously absent from the plane ride to China was Jamie Dimon. He said I'm not playing ball with the ballroom. Trump sued his bank. Dimon didn't make the trip. Jane Fraser from Citigroup did. These executives are caught between a rock and a hard place. If I don't kowtow, he hurts my shareholders, my reputation, my relationship with my own board, so they kowtow. And then they look at each other and perform the greatest act of collective cognitive dissonance in American corporate history.

The DOJ's attorney stood in federal court and told the judge there was "no national database being created" from the voter registration records his office was demanding from every state in the country. Judge Walker put that quote in a footnote. Then noted that an executive order directing DHS to compile a "State Citizenship List" from voter registration data was issued almost immediately after those reassurances were given at the hearing. That footnote is doing serious work. The DOJ is now 0-8 out of 31 lawsuits filed to obtain state voter rolls. Four of the eight judges who ruled against them were Trump appointees. The legal theory at issue - that the Civil Rights Act of 1960, passed specifically to fight racial discrimination in Jim Crow voting booths, gives the federal government the right to conduct line-by-line federal audits of every state's voter rolls - has not found a single judge willing to accept it, including the four Trump put on the bench. Thirty-one lawsuits. Zero wins. The record and the footnote are the whole story.

The DOJ has no right to demand private voter data from Maine and Wisconsin, two federal judges ruled this week. The department is now 0 for 8 in its legal battle to obtain state voter rolls to bolster Trump’s lies about widespread illegal voting. bit.ly/3PCfuwT

And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media. A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children. Lets make this viral again 👇

HOLY CRAP Trump actually accomplished a miracle. Here is what he got out of Iran: - Reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium by about 98% - Limit uranium enrichment to 3.67% purity (far below weapons-grade) - Cut the number of installed centrifuges by roughly two-thirds - Only enrich uranium at one declared site (Natanz) - Stop enrichment activities at Fordow and convert it into a research facility - Redesign the Arak heavy-water reactor so it could not easily produce weapons-grade plutonium - Ship out or dilute excess enriched uranium Allow extensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permit continuous monitoring of nuclear facilities and supply chains - Accept “snap” inspections under expanded monitoring rules - Avoid building new heavy-water reactors for years - Stay within strict limits on uranium stockpile size and centrifuge development for set periods ranging from 10–25 years Ooops, sorry! That was the JCPOA that Obama signed with Iran, only to have him tear it up, kill 140 kids, get hundreds of Americans injured, 13 killed, and gas prices to surge 50%.

Thomas Massie says he will publicly read the names of the Epstein clients before his time in Congress comes to an end. Massie says there will be no high-level arrests as long as Todd Blanche and Kash Patel work for the United States government. Massie says Melania Trump knows the truth about Epstein not acting alone. "Todd Blanche is violating the law."

Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would be called into special session over Memorial Day weekend and have to argue that military members and their spouses deserve to have their votes counted after they already cast their ballots. But here we are. South Carolina is trying to rush through new congressional maps while the election process is already underway. Military and overseas voters followed the rules. They requested their ballots. They voted. They sent them back. Now, because politicians want to change the maps at the last minute, those voters could have their ballots thrown out through no fault of their own. That is unacceptable. I have an amendment that says if the congressional primaries are moved to August, those military and overseas voters should automatically receive a new ballot for the new primary. That should not be controversial. But apparently, some folks are fighting me on it. Some days it feels like I am living in the upside down. It is Memorial Day weekend, and I am having to fight to protect the voting rights of the very people serving our country. If we say we support our veterans, our military members, and their families, then we should start by making sure their votes count. Standing strong. Holding the line.
