Pearl Abyss provided @digitalfoundry with the PC equivalent visual settings for the PS5 and PS5 Pro PS5 Pro runs most basic settings at ultra settings (textures, model quality, lighting) and has better ray tracing. Now we're talking, the Pro is an excellent upgrade

@videotechuk_ @digitalfoundry The game sucks Pro tbh unless you are happy with 30fps. The performance mode can drop into the 30s on bosses. If you are ok with 30fps go right ahead but otherwise don't believe DF running around the starting area and claiming it hits 60fps most of the time because it doesn't.

@videotechuk_ @digitalfoundry No matter how much you shills glaze the Pro, it IS NOT worth $800+ to play the dozens of physical games I already own, especially with the same CPU as the base PS5. It literally relies on gimmicks like PSSR to even be considered above base PS5. Make it $600 with disc drive.

@videotechuk_ @MR3Dev It still cannot run at a stable 60fps performance mode. That is a huge fucking problem in 2026. The fact studios still put visual fidelity over smooth performance is pathetic and why lots of people just don't bother with new IP's.
