Finally after a decade we have a picture of T-14 Armata brand new autoloader. It uses a completely different round arrangement compared to AZ and MZ series autoloaders with both projectile and charge being stored vertically allowing for impressive 31 rounds in the tray.

@ToughSf Yes, that's the Improvement-88, but the whole project took years, and itself had multiple vehicles and new inventions.

@Volke__ Thanks. Soviet/Russian tank history around that period is muddled. The program apparently started before the USSR fell as "OKR Sovershenstvovanie-88" but I can't verify.

The Object 195 was supposed to be the USSR's replacement for T-80/90 MBTs. Its crew sat in an armored capsule in the from, riding on adaptive hydropneumatic suspension, armed with both a 152mm 2A83 gun firing 2000 m/s APFSDS and a 30mm autocannon in an unmanned turret.

@RadarFennec Oh no no it was the other way around this time, some people claimed it only had 2 person crew because some Chinese concepts years ago showed a possible 2 person setup.

@Volke__ What is it with Western mil people continuing to doubt that tanks built to be light are of course going to have an autoloader in them. Especially by a country that has already been using them for decades.

@OnenessTara @11DeAtH21 No APS is 100% fool proof, to not have passive or reactive protection and hide behind an excuse of „we have APS” is complete ignorance of survivability onion, not to mention vehicles like Leopard 2, T-14, Merkava etc. all have modern APS systems and very good hatch protection.

@11DeAtH21 @Volke__ The tank equipped with APS system, the turret integrates millimeter-wave radar and interceptor bombs, turn "hard resistance" to "active interception". Then the thickness of the armor is no longer such important

@OnenessTara @11DeAtH21 Being armored against top attack threats is not a hallmark of cold war design, it is a hallmark of acknolweding modern DPICM, ATGM and now drone threats.

@11DeAtH21 @Volke__ Russians' understanding of the role of tanks is still stuck in the Cold War period, and the Russian army has not truly realized informationization. This is also the reason for the poor performance of the Russian army in SVO.

@11DeAtH21 To się zgadza, już przy pierwszych zdjęciach Typu 100 zwracałem uwagę na bardzo cieniutkie opancerzenie, spotkało się to z nielada hatem od pewnych internatuów z Azji.

@Zbiesu @TrompBK Otóż nie, to inny typ pojazdu majacy być lżejszym bardziej uniwersalnym MBT, jeśli przyjdzie cięższy (a jak narazie tak planują) to wedle Chińskich komentatorów wtedy zmieni się jego rola. Ale takie rzeczy jak 105tka są na pewno linią idącą od ZTQ-15

@TrompBK Type 100 to nowa jakość i twór zespołu ludzi którzy sądzą w PLA że lżejsze bardziej uniwersalne MBT to przyszłość. ZTQ-15 to inna klasa pojazdu. Natomiast jest druga grupa bardziej klasyczna która chce nowego ciężkiego/klasycznego czołgu w ideii ZTZ-99 który jest w powijakach.

@Volke__ A wiemy w sumie, po co im to? Mają przecież niemal całkiem nowego Typ 15, wyglądającego zupełnie nieźle. Już bardziej bym szukał zamiennika dla 99-ek.

@Justahu50471094 Pt-91Z was tested in Malaysia alongside other tanks like T-90S in the 2000 not 97. Additionally it did not have a Polish made FCS but as did the final Pt-91M it had SAGEM SAVAN-15 from France. It was picked because it was the best price to performance offer.

@Volke__ In 1997, it competed against Ukraine's T-84 Oplot and ROK's K1 tank. Ultimately, the PT-91 was selected after its performance was recognized as superior in the final evaluation. It seems they were quite impressed with the Polish-made SKO-1 FCS

@dar_c1 Nie no, Pt-91Z z którego zrobiona Malaja, powstał już po właściwym Pt-91 dla nas, także to nie jest aż takie zadziwiające, problem jest w tym że nie zdecydowano się zmodernizować całej floty T-72 do takiego poziomu, a potem nie robiono prawie nic z samymi Pt-91.

@Volke__ To jest jakiś polski paradoks - dobrą modernizację sprzedać za granicę a samemu zostać z gorszą wersją. Prawie jak przed wojną z PZL-11 i PZL-24

Yes, i've seen it, yes it is bad, no nothing about T-64 actual development history is said in it, or T-72s, its just mostly some fantasies again, don't tag me or dm me about it.

Zełenski zapowiedział reformę armii - najdłużej służący żołnierze mają zostać zdemobilizowani. Pytanie czy 🇺🇦 stać na pozbywanie się doświadczonych wojskowych. Chyba że presja polityczna jest już zbyt duża.
