I can't find the SparkAR "effect" with @volograms , but this was the @SnapAR version... not too bad! Probably the first ever volumetric video on that platform, back in 2018 😃

Co- founder of one of our campous companies Konstantinos Amplianitis, PhD from @Volograms has written an important op-ed for Greece's best selling newspaper Ta Nea: Entitled "Impacts of the European Artificial Intelligence Act on the EU Startup Ecosystem", it is very useful to get the perspective of #AI start up community on this legislation. The EU's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act is expected to establish clear guidelines for the protection of citizens and society at large from AI products and applications that could potentially harm or compromise human rights in some way. The objective of this act is to provide a transparent framework for the design and utilization of AI systems, thereby creating more favorable conditions for technology companies to thrive, compete, and ensure a level playing field. A similar approach was taken with the legislative framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). One positive aspect of this Act for the European startup ecosystem is its potential to increase citizens' trust in products and services based on AI, subsequently leading to an uptick in demand for the offered products and services. However, the EU's AI Act could also pose challenges for European startups. Specifically, the heightened operational costs they may need to bear in order to comply with the stringent regulations imposed by the EU could impede their ability to compete with companies from non-European countries where regulatory frameworks for AI are less strict. It is crucial to note that startups, especially those in the early stages, have limited resources, and such an Act introduces additional costs for legal compliance. This has been observed with the GDPR, compelling startups to seek legal counsel to achieve a reasonable level of compliance across all aspects of their operations. Furthermore, due to extensive requirements and regulatory procedures, startups may encounter delays in the development and sale of their systems in the market."
