Been looking into AgenticROS a bit deeper and it’s actually a pretty clean approach to something most people overcomplicate. agenticros.com github.com/agenticros/age… It basically connects AI agents directly to ROS2, so instead of building custom integrations every time, you get a standard layer where an agent can take a message from chat or terminal, translate it into ROS2 operations, and execute it on a real robot. What I like is that it’s not tied to one model or stack. You can run it with Claude (via MCP), Gemini, OpenClaw, NemoClaw — whatever fits your setup — and everything routes through the same system. Under the hood it’s pretty straightforward: agent receives intent, passes it through the AgenticROS adapter, which maps it into ROS2 actions (topics, services, goals), and the robot executes while streaming feedback back to the agent. They also structured it in a modular way with tools + skill packages, so instead of hardcoding behaviors you can compose them. Add vision, teleop, follow-me logic, or your own skills without rewriting the whole pipeline. Deployment is flexible too — local, network, or remote via WebRTC / Zenoh — which matters if you’re not just playing in a sim but actually running hardware. Feels less like a “cool demo” and more like an execution layer for agents in the real world. Still early, but this direction makes sense. Agents moving from interface → execution is where things actually start to matter.
