There is so much appetite for alternative voices in Irish politics, especially among young people! Maria Steen would have at least beat Gavin and Humphreys, probably Connolly too.

So tomorrow's Irish Times predicts the numbers of votes spoiled will be 150 THOUSAND higher than in the last election!
This will be so embarrassing for the government and they deserve it for brazenly shutting Maria Steen out of the race.

@VoteMariaSteen I'm sorry I simply don't see it. She basically replied with the equivalent of "it's none of my business what they do". Reading into it that she wouldn't discourage them from doing so is a stretch, not what she actually said.

Catherine Connolly makes a statement that implies she is happy for those who endorse her to nominate Maria Steen.
Connolly has a surplus of nominations. She was also on the same side as Maria in the referendums of 2024.
Could this be a way for Maria to get to 20?

@Kevmacd I wouldn't say it's much stronger! Seems to imply that she doesn't oppose any potential nominator allocating their choice to Maria. And given her surplus, and a possible situation where Maria is on 19 nominations, one more nomination for the sake of democracy cannot be ruled out

@ILoveSurfboards Hi Ben, I don't think it's literally the opposite. I mentioned she seemed to say she wouldn't discourage anyone from nominating Maria. That's not at all the opposite of her saying she wouldn't tell them to nominate Maria.
