In Portugal’s case, Bruno should have been that person for Ronaldo. As one of the leaders in the dressing room, he should have been supporting him the same way Pepe always did and helping keep the team together. Instead, it often looks like he wants to be the main man himself and that’s where the problem starts. When there are competing leadership ambitions, it’s difficult for the team to be fully united behind one figure.
