People don't seem to understand that "Chekhov's gun" is a metaphor. A gun doesn't literally have to go off in act 3. He's just saying that all plays should have guns in them
kind of fascinating how quickly the chatter around Michael Arden has gone from "he's the best director working right now" to "does this guy even know how to direct a musical"
@FALL3NALIEN Literally!! I saw a tiktok being like "Seymour has to be greasy and homeless looking!" and in the next sentence say Rob McClure was the perfect Seymour.
if i was a theatre actor and was cast as seymour in this current lsoh revival and someone made a post being like "FINALLY an ACCURATE SEYMOUR" i'd be in their replies saying some shit like "so you think im ugly????"
no, they're season ticket holders at the theater and thus reserve the same seats each time. they're actually quite cultured theatre goers and adore opera, but unfortunately the muppets also performs there and they HATE it
@Kyuunya@fuj0han She always wanted was a family. So when she found her parents with a name, birthday, and history, she took them. She became Daisy Johnson while still being her.
@fuj0han This isn’t exactly the same thing, but I remember it really rubbing me the wrong way, back when Agents of Shield was airing and Skye’s birth name was revealed, and they just had her assume that name as though there wasn’t any attachment to her chosen name.
i hate hate hate when a character is revealed to have a previous name that they don't identify with and fans insist on calling them that instead. THATS NOT THEIR NAME!!!!
