The idea that females would only desire neotenous boys because of birth control is a cope fantasy for cuckolded older men. Were the millions of 12 and 13 yr old girls obsessed with Justin Bieber all on birth control?

I've never felt male, but female even less. I have always felt like an outsider to humanity, without defined character, a hovering set of eyes and nothing else... hence the profile picture.

@Kraterocrat Mostly benevolent but with cruel streaks. Eyes still fresh and enchanted by life. Somewhat vain, though that word may be too harsh. Ultimately on the side of everything good in the world.

@Monodorah Yes, the draw is still there, but I am too broken to pursue anything that requires the level of dedication that language learning does at the moment. If things start looking up for me, I'll pick up either Chinese or Japanese.

@W0tch1ng I would say why not give learning it another shot? Surely that feeling and draw you have is still there.

I find it rather sad how some online become incredibly condescending and interrogative when I say "I'm studying Mandarin." They'll ask why, they'll ask why not Japanese, and ultimately launch into a geopolitical tirade or some 2010 era chauvism about manufacturing quality.

@Monodorah I was drawn to China because of its enormity, the fact that within the same country you have places as backwards as africa and places as modern as Europe, and various ethnic groups too. It seemed like a place that could offer me adventure without needing to visit literally africa

@W0tch1ng The character based system is a joy. The sound of the language I find pleasant. Chinese people themselves who I've grown up around or met online are very friendly. I tried Japanese for a bit, the inconsistent character rules and grammar annoyed me (still a nice language).
