Honour of lifetime to be Minister for Safeguarding. Quickly found contents overwhelmingly triggering. Did bravest thing I’ve ever done & told PMs team I sadly couldn’t stay. Victims deserve someone at their best. I wish my successor well & will do all I can to support them.

HOT MIC: Mahmood & Streeting Joke About Letting Prisoners Out Early order-order.com/2026/07/21/hot…

Meet our new Attorney General, Ellie Reeves. An Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS) scheme attorney… In March 2025 in Birmingham, Mohamed Abdulraziq (also referred to as Abdulraziq Mohammed), a Sudanese migrant, dragged/snatched a 5‑year‑old girl off the street into his shared house/bedsit, falsely imprisoned her with intent to commit a sexual offence, and sexually assaulted her. Her mother heard crying and she was thankfully rescued… he received only a sentence of 11 years’ imprisonment. In July 2025 in Nuneaton, Ahmad Mulakhil, an Afghan asylum seeker, abducted a 12‑year‑old girl from a playground, took her to a secluded area, raped her (including a second count he admitted), filmed the attack, sexually assaulted her, and threatened to kill her family. He used his Home Office‑issued card afterward. The victim (a looked‑after child with vulnerabilities) suffered significant psychological harm… he received only 15 years in prison + 1 year on licence. Both of these cases were requested to be reviewed for harsher sentencing under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme. Reeves DECLINED both cases and used mitigating factors such as “previous good character” and “his own immaturity by reason of his age” for the decision that what had been given was ‘adequate’. These victims were children. CHILDREN. How many more must suffer and how many more warnings does this government need before it admits and confronts the scale of danger we are in? If you cannot deport or hang them, then at the very, very least make sure the full scale of the law is implemented! This seems to be the standard now though, doesn’t it. This is the level of priority given to the safety of our children. And this is the person the government has now chosen to rely on for overseeing sentencing reviews. She has already shown us exactly where her focus lies. Not with the victims. Not with the families. Certainly not with the children who will carry these scars for life. Her appointment tells us everything about this government’s priorities. Sickening.

@NJ_Timothy She was only 5 years old. 5. This is sickening. If 11 years is an “appropriate” sentence as per current law then The law needs to be changed @elliereeves.
