Our Executive Director, @kakongea, participated in a live discussion on @nbstv this morning about politics in Bushenyi. He expressed concern that money-driven politics is marginalizing capable leaders whose only hindrance is financial shortage. As WACSOF, we advocate for civic engagement, leadership integrity, and a political culture where competence, not wealth, determines service. Strengthening democracy begins with upholding its core values. #WACSOF #AccountabilityNow

🚀✨ A new chapter for responsible fatherhood begins in Mbarara City.🫰👇 As part of the scale-up, REAL Fathers is extending to Mbarara City under WACSOF 🌱🤝 At the inception meeting with city stakeholders, the City Mayor, His Worship Kakyebezi, shared a powerful reflection on the urgent need to mentor young fathers and reshape attitudes around parenting through #REALFathersUganda 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💛 He emphasized that “producing a child is not throwing them into the world, it comes with responsibility.” Many men today have normalized fatherhood without accountability, often leaving children in the care of grandparents or neglecting their roles entirely. Through this wonderful mentorship approach and sensitization, this cycle can be broken 🔄🌱 His Worship also noted that while significant strides have been made in empowering the girl child, the boy child has often been left behind, yet he is central to shaping families and society. Without guidance, this gap can lead to harmful behaviors, but with the right support, we can raise responsible fathers and upright citizens 🏡✨ He welcomed the project as timely and transformative, highlighting its role in promoting love, care, positive and responsible parenting, while addressing challenges like child neglect and weak family systems 💬💛 The approach of allowing young fathers to choose their own mentors was particularly appreciated, as it builds trust, ownership and shared learning across generations 🤝👥 “As a city, we are ready to support this program,” he noted, adding that collaboration with child protection structures will be key in planning and responding better to issues affecting children and families 📊🏙️ 💬 Better fatherhood means better families and better families mean a better society. 🌍💛 #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #StrongerFamilies #ChildProtection

🔥 Straight from the districts, leaders are seeing change and appreciating the work and the strides. As #REALFathersUganda heads into Year 2, our teams shared Year 1 feedback with district leaders. They’ve witnessed real shifts in fathers, families and communities and are excited for what’s next 👏🏾🌱 Stay tuned as we share what each district had to say 👇🏾 📍Bushenyi The RDC, DCDO & Senior Probation Officer praised the program 👏🏾💛 “We’re so encouraged by the positive changes in fathers and families. Conversations around parenting are happening more and families are opening up. This program is truly making a difference, but we need to continue supporting consistent behavior change at home.” ✅ Let’s continue consistently supporting fathers in our communities, mentorship truly shapes and works. #REALFathersUganda #PositiveParenting #StrongerFamilies

📍Mitooma The RDC & DCDO reflected on Year 1 impact 👏🏾 “We appreciate how #REALFathersUganda is shifting attitudes. Fathers are taking more responsibility, families are engaging better and communities are noticing the change. Families still need to be sensitized about the destructive effects of witchcraft practices and alcoholism on family wellbeing. We also appreciate how WACSOF, through this project, has trained our CDOs on parenting and handling violence-related issues. Coordinated mentorship and ongoing support will make these changes permanent.” DCDO, Ms. Allen noted. ✅ Let’s continue mentoring these young families and building stronger, safer homes! 🌱💛

📍Rwampara The RDC was impressed with progress 🌱✨ She noted that “it’s good too see that fathers are actively participating in mentorship sessions and communities are noticing positive shifts. This program is appreciated widely. Our next step as the district together with our partners is reinforcing lessons and ensuring even those who haven’t yet fully grasped the concepts are reached.” ✅ Join the conversation in your community and help scale responsible fatherhood. Conversations are ongoing. #REALFathersUganda #PositiveParenting #StrongerFamilies

📍Buhweju - the hilly gold-rich lands of Ankole ⛰️💰 The RDC highlighted both appreciation and consistent need for mentorship. “We see the impact of this program already: more fathers are engaging, families are learning. But domestic violence remains a challenge. Many young fathers work in gold mining and disengage once they earn. Mentorship and community sensitization are critical to change these behaviors. This project can save lives.” ✅ Let’s mentor, engage and ensure no father or family is left behind! #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #EndViolence

⛰️🔥 Buhweju, known for its hilly terrain and gold, but today it’s rising for something even greater. Inception meetings in Buhweju are bringing together local leaders and stakeholders to align on the #REALFathersUganda approach ahead of Year 2 implementation 🤝🌱 These engagements are not just meetings, they’re setting the tone for a shift in how communities nurture and support young fathers 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💬✨ The Mayor of Nyakaziba Town Council noted that many young fathers are engaged in gold mining and once they earn some income, some drift away from their families and responsibilities. She emphasized the need to guide and support these young men so they remain present, responsible and connected to their homes 💬⛏️💛 She further called for intentional sensitization, urging leaders and elders to take collective responsibility in mentoring young fathers, ensuring no one is left behind as the program rolls out 📢🤝 From the hills and mines to the homes, a new story of responsible fatherhood is taking shape 🌍✨ 📍Buhweju #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #StrongerFamilies #CommunityEngagement

🚀 Laying the foundation for Year 2 of impact👇 Today, inception meetings were successfully held at sub-county level in Rwampara, Sheema and Bushenyi to introduce the #REALFathersUganda project to key stakeholders ahead of Year 2 implementation 🤝🌱 These engagements are bringing together local leaders, technical officers and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and build a shared understanding of the #REALFathersApproach to promoting responsible fatherhood and stronger family systems 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦📚 Stakeholders reflected on the importance of mentoring young fathers, addressing harmful norms and creating supportive environments where men actively participate in childcare, family wellbeing and positive parenting 💬💛 The meetings also provided space to highlight progress made so far since April-2025 and reaffirm the role of district and sub-county leadership in supporting mentorship structures, community dialogues and inclusive engagement as the program expands in Year 2 🌍✨ Strong partnerships at local level remain key to ensuring the program’s impact reaches families and communities where it matters most and it’s our priority. 📸 📍Rwampara 📍Sheema 📍Bushenyi #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #StrongerFamilies #CommunityPartnerships

🖼️✨ A picture speaks where words sometimes cannot. Under the #REALFathersapproach, every session ends with a group meeting where a poster is shared each carrying a unique message that reflects the theme of that month 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌱 Images have power. They capture attention, stir emotion and make lessons memorable. Long after the discussion ends, the visuals remain, reinforcing messages on responsible fatherhood, communication, shared decision-making, family love and positive parenting 💬💛 Each poster becomes more than paper on a wall. It becomes a reminder, a conversation starter and a silent teacher within homes, trading centers, churches and community spaces 🤝🏡 Because when people see change, they begin to imagine it and when they imagine it, they start to live it 🔥✨ 📍 Ruhumuro | Bushenyi #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #PosterSeries #SocialNormsChange

✨ Economic strength is family strength. Under the #REALFathersApproach, VSLA (Village Savings & Loan Associations) are being integrated not only for young fathers, but also for their spouses and mentors 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💛🌱 Trainings are ongoing across our project districts, equipping our project beneficiaries with practical skills in saving, financial planning and collective accountability 💵📚🤝 But this is more than saving money: it’s about building community. When families come together to save, learn and support one another, trust grows, solidarity deepens, and a culture of shared responsibility is strengthened 🌍🤲✨ By combining economic empowerment with mentorship on parenting and relationships, we are reinforcing both the financial and social foundations of strong homes. When fathers, mothers and mentors grow together, households become more stable and communities become more resilient 🏡💛 Responsible fatherhood is holistic; it’s about presence, provision and partnership. #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #VSLA #BuildingCommunity #StrongerFamilies

💡 What happens when learning doesn’t stop at one conversation? Under the #REALFathers approach, mentorship goes beyond individual sessions. After one-on-one engagements, young fathers and their mentors gather again at parish level for group mentorship spaces 💬👨‍👧‍👦🌱 Here, no one is left behind. If a young father didn’t fully grasp a concept during his individual session, the group setting provides another opportunity to unpack it asking questions openly, sharing experiences and learning from fellow fathers 🤝📖✨ Facilitated by the Lead Mentor, these sessions deepen understanding of the session held during an individual session, strengthen motivation towards being better fathers and build brotherhood among men committed to becoming better fathers 💛 🚨Because when fathers learn together, they grow together and stronger fathers mean stronger homes for children to live🌍👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 📍 Bushenyi | Rwampara #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #MentorshipMatters #StrongerFamilies

Strong mentorship doesn’t happen by chance, it’s nurtured every step of the way. 🌱✨ Our District Project Officers (DPOs) continue to conduct observation visits 👀, provide supportive supervision 🤝 and conduct timely follow ups with one-on-one reminders 📲 to ensure mentors stay active and consistent in their engagement with young fathers and their spouses. When mentors are consistently supported, mentorship becomes more effective and young fathers receive the right information at the right time. 📘💬 This is how we’re continuing to strengthen families and build positive fatherhood in our communities. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦❤️ Real impact. Real presence. Real follow-through. 🔥 Walking the talk👉 📍 Ntungamo | Sheema #REALFathersUganda #PositiveFatherhood #MentorshipMatters #ChildWellbeing #ParentingForImpact #CommunityLeadership #FamilyStrengthening

Learning grows stronger when no one is left behind 🤝✨ As WACSOF, we truly value inclusion and inclusivity in all our work 💛🌈 Through the REAL Fathers approach, mentorship goes beyond one-on-one sessions into group learning spaces, where young fathers support one another, share experiences and deepen understanding together alongside their mentors 💬👨‍👦‍👦 Even as the Learning Convening continues, mentorship sessions are actively happening on the ground, because positive change doesn’t pause 🌱🔥 We are proud to see inclusive mentorship in action, with mentors of diverse backgrounds and abilities leading transformation in their communities 🌍🤍 📍 Sheema District | Karugorora Parish | Kasaana Sub-county #REALFathersUganda #InclusionMatters #InclusiveDevelopment #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #CommunityLed #LeaveNoOneBehind 💛
