💭 What if the way we raise fathers today determines the Uganda we live in tomorrow? 🇺🇬👨‍👧‍👦 Parenting shapes who we become, for better or worse. Many of us are responsible or irresponsible today because of the parenting we received… or missed. That’s why addressing fatherhood early isn’t optional but rather a shared duty for all of us 👨‍👧‍👦🌱 A key question echoed throughout the #REALFathersUganda conversations: How are young men prepared for fatherhood? When we look around, many homes are in ICU marked by instability, violence, drug abuse and broken relationships. The urgency is real 🚨🏠 As discussions turn to scale and sustainability, the focus is clear: how do we preserve these powerful lessons and integrate them across systems and communities? Implementing partners shared honest experiences and opportunities for integration, feeding into plenary reflections that are shaping a sustainable path forward 🤝📊 A powerful reflection from faith leadership stood out: while the Church has long worked to transform lives, @iidcug commitment to supporting new fathers through helping them reshape attitudes and access the right information has been timely and impactful. If this approach reaches every corner of the country, the next generation will look very different. When parents know what to do, violence and crime reduce. And while many families grow spiritually through the process, this remains a values-based, not religious, mentorship ⛪✨ Implementing partners from @iidcug, @FAWEUganda, @Somerouganda09 and @BantwanaOVC shared on-the-ground insights, strengthening collective learning on what works and what it takes to scale responsibly across Uganda 🇺🇬 Closing reflections from Asst. Commissioner for Youth @Mglsd_UG Mondo Kyateka, reinforced that parenting is a critical national responsibility. With rising family instability and violence, preparing young men for fatherhood through strong partnerships is no longer a choice but “it’s a necessity”. #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #FamilySystems #SocialNormsChange #ParentingMatters

🤝Responsible fatherhood is not a single-sector issue - it’s a national development priority. 🇺🇬👨‍👧‍👦 A high-level panel at the #REALFathersUganda Convening brought together commissioners from @Educ_SportsUg @MoLGUganda @MinofHealthUG to spotlight how coordinated sector interventions can advance responsible fatherhood in Uganda. From the education lens, John Wesonga @Educ_SportsUg emphasized that parents carry the primary responsibility for a child’s growth and development. He highlighted education and sports as critical platforms for shaping values, discipline, teamwork and positive behavior 👉calling on fathers to be present in their children’s learning journeys, school engagement and talent development ⚽📚 From the local government perspective, Steven Koma @MoLGUganda noted that LGs play a critical role in inclusive service delivery. Through bottom-up planning, community engagement, and strong frameworks, districts can ensure families’ needs are prioritized in work plans and budgets. On health, Dr. George Upenytho @MinofHealthUG shared ongoing efforts to promote father involvement in maternal and child health, with community health workers supporting families in family planning, nutrition and access to essential health services 🩺💛 The panel reaffirmed that responsible fatherhood requires collective action across sectors to build stronger families and healthier communities. #REALFathersUganda #ResponsibleFatherhood #PositiveParenting #FamilySupport #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #GenderEquity

Evaluation results indicate that when young fathers are intentionally supported to change parenting and relationship practices, measurable reductions in violence within the home follow. This is a significant finding for family-strengthening policy — Kathryn M. Barker @UCSanDiego

Happy Herbert Mayanja argues Ugandans to always participate in the voting process as it's the way we shape the future of our Country. He says most elites don't participate in the process but comeback to blame local people on voting bad leadership. @WACSOF @kakongea @ngoforum
