Brayden Bates – WEB West/East Bridgewater Hockey: Brayden Bates – Goalie 3,201 career saves!! Brayden Bates, a Senior from West Bridgewater, Massachusetts recently finished his exceptional high school career playing the position of goalie for the West/East Bridgewater Boys Hockey team with one to remember for many years to come. His staggering numbers may not be seen in a long time if ever at West/East Bridgewater. Brayden Bates, who will attend Mass Maritime Academy located in Bourne, MA in the Fall 2026, did things that deserve extra special recognition. Brayden Bates a 2025/2026 South Shore League All-Star not only led the league in 2025/2026 in both saves and shots faced but he also led the entire State of Massachusetts in those categories. Brayden faced a total of 835 shots in 23 games played in the 2025/2026 season with the next competitor according to stats reported to Neutral Zone Hockey was 640. That is an average of 36.3 per game. Brayden Bates made 751 saves in 23 games for an average of over 32 per game. Brayden had a season high of 46 shots saved in one game and 51 shots faced in one game. He had 16 games during the 2025/2026 season with 30 or more saves and 4 games of 40 or more saves in a game. Brayden Bates finished his stellar high school career averaging over 30 saves per game and made an astonishing 3,201 saves in 106 games played. East Bridgewater won its first game of the season connecting on 15 hits and scoring 17 runs. Bella Abrams reached base 4 times in the game with 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 HBP and had 1 RBI, Maggie Schlossberg, Riley Egan and Kenzie Whitman each reached base 3 times in the game. Maggie Schlossberg 1 hit, 2 walks and had 2 RBIs. Riley Egan 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 HBP and had 1 RBI. Kenzie Whitman 3 hits and had 2 RBIs. West Bridgewater led 3-2, entering the fifth inning in a close game when Bourne scored in the fifth inning to tie the game 3-3 and then scored 5 runs unanswered in the seventh inning to capture the win. West Bridgewater’s Ben Dowdall led the team in hits with 2. Nate Grueter had the Wildcats only RBI and Ryan Nunes hit a triple. Bourne was led by Owen Gagner with a double and 2 RBIs. Bryce Young and Cam Polczwartek combined on the mound throwing 12 strikeouts in the win. West Bridgewater’s Regan Bryant had a sensational game as she pitched a no-hitter striking out 13 batters and did not allow a run or walk in the game. Eighth grader Regan Bryant also starred on offense at bat with 2 hits, 2 walks and 4 RBIs. West Bridgewater Freshman Alanna Fidalgo continues to be the hottest batter in the conference had another stellar game at bat as she reached base in all 6 batting attempts with 4 hits, 2 walks and 1 RBI. Eighth grader Lacey Roche was perfect at bat reaching base all 6 times with 3 hits, 3 walks and 2 RBIs. Seventh grader Liliana Morales had an impressive game with 4 hits and 4 RBIs. Eighth grader Emma Croce reached base 4 times in the game with 3 hits, 1 walk and 2 RBIs and shined on defense catching the no-hitter behind the plate. Southeastern Regional had an outstanding overall game from Isabella Troncoso with 2 hits including a triple, 3 RBIs and on defense pitched 5 strong innings striking out 8 batters to earn the win in the circle. Cienna Maldonado 2 hits, 4 RBIs, Kiley Hayes 2 hits, 3 RBIs, Bella Ayer 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and Bella Milks 2 hits, 1 RBI, Nicole Kalweit 2 hits, 1 RBI all chipped in with a multi-hit game and RBIs. Somerset-Berkley exploded for 3 home runs in the game as Brooke Parent 2 hits including a home run, 4 RBIs, Sophia Thornton 2 hits including a home run, 3 RBIs and Erin Gunn 2 hits including a home run, 2 RBIs each helped to power the win. Also contributing to the win with a great game at bat were Julia Costa 4 hits, 2 RBIs, Samantha Comeau 3 hits, 2 RBIs and Tatum Swanson 3 hits, 1 RBI.
