Brayden Bates, a Senior from West Bridgewater, Massachusetts recently finished his exceptional high school career playing the position of goalie for the West/East Bridgewater Boys Hockey team with one to remember for many years to come. His staggering numbers may not be seen in a long time if ever at West/East Bridgewater. Brayden Bates, who will attend Mass Maritime Academy located in Bourne, MA in the Fall 2026, did things that deserve extra special recognition. Brayden Bates a 2025/2026 South Shore League All-Star not only led the league in 2025/2026 in both saves and shots faced but he also led the entire State of Massachusetts in those categories. Brayden faced a total of 835 shots in 23 games played in the 2025/2026 season with the next competitor according to stats reported to Neutral Zone Hockey was 640. That is an average of 36.3 per game. Brayden Bates made 751 saves in 23 games for an average of over 32 per game. Brayden had a season high of 46 shots saved in one game and 51 shots faced in one game. He had 16 games during the 2025/2026 season with 30 or more saves and 4 games of 40 or more saves in a game. Brayden Bates finished his stellar high school career averaging over 30 saves per game and made an astonishing 3,201 saves in 106 games played. West/East Bridgewater (4-9) shut out Cohasset/Hull earlier in the season 2-0 but the much-improved Cohasset/Hull team played much better as a unit to avenge the previous league game loss. Cohasset/Hull (5-8) was led by Taighe Dwyer who scored 2 goals. James Muldowney had 1 goal and 1 assist. Mason Delgallo scored the other goal for the Skippers. West/East Bridgewater WEB Daniel Vaughn highlighted the team in points scored with 1 goal (8th of the season) and 1 assist (9th of the season). WEST/EAST BRIDGEWATER BOYS HOCKEY: RECAP Final OT: West/East Bridgewater 4 Nantucket 3 OT January 10, 2026. The WEB Boys Hockey Team defeated Nantucket 4-3 in overtime at The Bog in Kingston. West/East Bridgewater’s Jack Pimental book shelved the scoring for WEB by getting the first goal of the game and then faking out the Nantucket goalie on a stellar move to slap in the game winning goal in OT! The goals were Jack Pimental’s 8th and 9th on the season). Other WEB goals who both played strong were scored by Derek Jenkins-Jennings (2 on the season) and Brian Westerlund (1st of the season). Daniel Vaughn continues to be the set up general as he had 3 assists (6,7 and 8 on the season) other assists came from Tyler Henderson (3 on the season and Everett Reddington (2 on the season). WEB 6 Blue Hills 1 WEB Boys Hockey Team started off the first day of 2026 with their own fireworks, as Jack Pimental was on fire in the first period blazing the net scoring 3 goals (3rd, 4th and 5th of the season) Jack’ goals were a Natural Hat Trick and first of his career! WEB never looked back as they beat Blue Hills 6-1 on New Year’s Day! Jack Pimental also added 2 assists (5th and 6th of the season) on the day to earn Player of the Game!
