Let’s hear it for the Eagles, let’s hear it for the Woosha.

@chris_willo By the time we play the rest of the dross, we’ll be half strength. Not reflective when you’re trying to compare yourself to your peers, might cost a win or two we’d otherwise have hoped to bank. Meanwhile North start with four wins, pressure’s off, season tally looks good.
English

@chris_willo Think it’s one of those that stings bad teams more than good.
Eagles have started losing their senior depth to season enders. 2-0 against North and Port, beaten soundly by GC/SYD/GEE with a red hot Freo on the agenda today.
English

Best on last week, now 13 and a goal to half time here.
Back him in. Give him a proper run.

After getting some advice from the crowd, Liam Ryan nailed the shot from the boundary 😅

@Jousting_Sticks The same can be said of every 31 year old in the country.

The longer this game goes on, the closer to the All Australian team Reuben Ginbey gets.

Darty's got 6 😳

@JordanTHFCFFC No they don’t lean on the fixture at all, it’s complete random chance that the Suns start with the easiest fixture in footy year on year.
English

This is what’s so frustrating about our opening fixtures.
Suns, North, Port getting gifted these amazing opening games, a team off one win gets GC/Syd/Gee/Freo and by the time we get to play the crap sides all our blokes are in for surgery.

@outbreezyWC @LeeTatts And no we didn’t have them in that order, but when we handled our business and won the two pleb games, I think you’re entitled to say hey we might have won more had we be gifted North’s ridiculous start.
If we’d lost them all, no leg to stand on. We didn’t. 2-0 against our peers
English

@outbreezyWC @LeeTatts A tweet isn’t changing the fixture nor is it making the club go hang on maybe we should try winning. It’s an abstract thought of frustration after another crushing impact injury blow.
League isn’t fixing the clash policy either but I’ll still fire a post off cause who cares?
English

@outbreezyWC @LeeTatts And of course we have bigger problems, it’s a frustration in amongst historically poor run.
But when North get the who’s who of crap, Gold Coast get a free ride off a finals win and seven first rounders, then we get Swans/Suns/Cats/Dockers plus 2-0 against the duds. Lame.
English

@outbreezyWC @LeeTatts There’s winnable games here and there in there, as there is this year, but they’ve been brutal fixtures (especially at the time they were drawn up).
That and you’re making the same point I am. Bad teams are better at the start...but we’re a bad team.
English

@outbreezyWC @LeeTatts In recent years? We’ve had crap starts in recent years.
And yeah, we are bad (clearly not worse than everyone gee whiz), but your reasoning for not wanting weaker teams early then applies to us too? Which is my exact point. Fresher, healthier, so fewer fringe depth playing etc
English

@outbreezyWC @LeeTatts Yeah and we went 2-0.
Clearly improving and you’d think a one win side wouldn’t get a stitch up fixture but here we are.
English

@J6otti It doesn’t, it means by the time we play the crap teams half the list is injured including the senior pillars we’re putting around our army of kids.
So those games become harder and your season looks a lot worse than if we’d started with, say, North’s piss easy open.
