An analyst may take a look at Mishara's innings and conclude that he is a good spin hitter. But most of his sixes against spin came off half trackers.

Croos was the only batter in that A side who hit a six in the V. Otherwise, most of the sixes were hit in the region between fine leg and wide long on. NZ A bowled a lot of filth and that explains the high strike rate of SL A batters.

Pavan may make a good ODI accumulator. But he is still too far away from becoming a decent T20 batter or a good ODI batter.

When you have a massive skill gap, fitness should be the least of your concerns. But, then again, it is a low-effort reason and enables you to push the locus of control onto the players, so it becomes a popular excuse for poor performance.

They need a big finish to score big. But what if that never comes, a major possibility given the volatility of the death overs.
A little more impetus not just in the middle overs, but in the power play is needed IMO

@DArmChairCritic They believe system and team than individual names. which is why even their most of average players much better than some of the best in some other teams. I never saw any of aussie players fan club or social media pages influence on selections like what happen in here.

Australia has a strong brand that even beating their weakest side is considered a historic win. I am yet to understand the hype about the 2022 win against them in Kandy even though I am a very big Shanaka fan.

AFAIR, Bradman is the only accumulator from Sri Lanka who made the accumulator to power hitter conversion successfully. I can at least think of 10 accumulators who have failed in the last decade.

Pavan's back and across trigger movement should help him get into a good power-hitting base, but he does it so late and also has this second trigger movement forward, which doesn't allow him to generate power.

@WDN1989 Thushara is potent with the new ball. I don't think Milan offers much with the ball and his batting doesn't justify his inclusion.
