Excited to find this ancient bit of railway & canal infrastructure. It's where the Kemble-Cirencester line crossed a road and the Thames Severn Canal just east of Sapperton. And that's me about to cross it 62 years ago! @WDRailways @FgottenRelics @PaulWhitewick @TrekExploration

A great example of a walk is from Monsal (Headstone) Viaduct to Bakewell in Derbyshire. This was on part of the Derby to Manchester railway line which closed in 1968. The 173 bus runs every 2 hours from Bakewell to Castleton until teatime and passes the top of Monsal Head.
