Last day in the beautiful Cotswolds. Roman brooches, coins, pot & confirmation we have a circular plank-built Roman house with hearth. Constant last minute surprises. Thank you to all the team: you’ll see the @thetimeteam prog soon! @CotswoldArch #archaeology #wellbeing #veterans

The Day 4 update from our friends at Op Nightingale. The chap in the red looks familiar 🙃 A big THANK YOU to the team on site for their kind invitation - it is always such a privilege to work alongside you and to witness #history in the making 😆 @CotswoldArch @thetimeteam

Day 4: We now think the circular feature is a Roman building with a hearth! Lots of pottery & coins with Saxon burials & a splendid knife too. Huge thanks to @WEOROD for their help. Now to discover the purpose of THAT building! @thetimeteam @CotswoldArch #archaeology #wellbeing

Following their work in 2019 our friends at Op Nightingale have been back in the Cotswolds this week seeking more fascinating #AngloSaxon #archaeology. We will let them tell the story:

Our Op Nightingale excavation with @CotswoldArch & @thetimeteam starts on Monday! Last time we were there, this remarkable bowl was found in a 6th Century context! What will we find next week? Watch this space!! #archaeology #wellbeing #veterans #saxon photo (c) @beardysnapper
