🏡Soldiers and their families returning Cyprus will move into newly-upgraded homes in Woolwich. These are just some of the improvements we are making as part of our renewal of military homes, which will see over 40,000 houses in the UK refurbished or rebuilt over 10 years.

At @HMS_Raleigh , we’re building a partial replica of a merchant ship for sailors and Royal Marines to practice boarding vessels, a skill used regularly to intercept drug traffickers at sea. The facility will be completed next year.

Plans for homes for military families at RAF Brize Norton have moved a step forward after a resolution by West Oxfordshire District Council to grant planning permission. Once final approval is received construction will begin on the 265 new properties on land at Carterton.

As a precautionary measure we are moving families who live at RAF Akrotiri to alternative temporary accommodation in Cyprus. I’ve spoken to the Commander of British Forces Cyprus this morning. My first priority is always the protection of our people - military and civilian.
