@mymixtapez Yall hate women so much that they change their appearance to please the masses. Then the masses change up on them and say hateful things about their appearance. This world is filled we hate and not love and it shows. Let’s heal one another. 🥰😍😊🤩😭

At the May Transform Westside Summit, we explored how guaranteed income and wealth-building strategies can help restore agency and build opportunity on Atlanta’s historic Westside — especially for those who have long faced the highest barriers to economic security. Hope Wollensack, Executive Director of the Georgia Resilience & Opportunity Fund, joined us alongside her team to share how bold initiatives like In Her Hands and Freedom Futures are putting resources directly into the hands of women and young people — helping them not just get by, but get ahead. Guided by Dr. King’s vision and Coretta Scott King’s continued advocacy for guaranteed income, our panel explored the power of investing in people, not just programs — and the progress that becomes possible when we do. Thank you to Hope, Chyna Quarker, Amit Khanduri, and Dr. Alex Camardelle, Ph.D. for leading this powerful conversation — and to the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation for sponsoring the Summit. Couldn’t join us? Catch the recap and full Summit video on our Stories of Impact blog: westsidefuturefund.org/may-transform-…

At the April Transform Westside Summit, we explored how the restoration of 234 Sunset Avenue — the historic Vine City home where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his family lived from 1965 through the aftermath of his assassination — can honor the King family’s legacy while inspiring continued progress on Atlanta’s historic Westside. Reginald Chapple, Superintendent of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park & Preservation District, joined us to share the National Park Service’s vision for this powerful symbol of justice, leadership, and community. At @WFFAtlanta, we’re honored to support efforts that preserve and uplift the legacy of those who shaped this community. Thank you to Reginald and the National Park Service for their commitment to keeping this history alive for generations to come. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Couldn't make it? Today, we stood between the homes of two giants of the Civil Rights Movement — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Jackson family — and celebrated a new chapter of opportunity and legacy. @WFFAtlanta was honored to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the restored Jackson family home at 220 Sunset Avenue. Built by Rev. Maynard Jackson Sr. and Dr. Irene Dobbs Jackson, and once home to Atlanta’s first Black mayor, Maynard Jackson Jr., this historic landmark has been thoughtfully restored to serve a new purpose: providing deeply affordable housing and a pathway to homeownership for @SpelmanCollege faculty and staff. Thanks to this transformational partnership with Spelman College, and with the support of our many incredible partners, we are honoring and preserving history while creating opportunities for residents to deepen roots and shape the future of this community. Through WFF's Home on the Westside program, qualified Spelman employees will have access to affordable housing right in the heart of the historic Westside — with financial coaching and homebuyer support designed to turn renters into homeowners. We are deeply grateful to all our partners, supporters, and community members who made this moment possible. Together, we are transforming the historic Westside into a community that Dr. King — and the Jackson family — would be proud to call home.
