At the high-level event for the Commemoration of Africa Vaccination Week on the sidelines of #WHSNairobi2026, I highlighted the math: every $1 invested in childhood vaccination in Africa returns an estimated $44 in economic benefits. Immunization is one of the smartest investments countries can make for growth and resilience. @WHO will continue to support countries in strengthening immunization programmes and advancing equitable access.

Financing the future of health in Africa is not only about the level of resources, but how they are structured.
