Age verification at scale absolutely means ID checks, third‑party data brokers, and biometric profiling — which means building permanent infrastructure to track who sees what online, not just blocking kids from porn.
The playbook is obvious: weaponize fear, normalize ID‑for‑access, then use that system for speech control, financial control, and political control while pretending it’s all for “safety.”
People who deny the surveillance risk aren’t defending children, they’re defending a business model and a control architecture. When the same government that can’t “find” Epstein’s clients demands your papers to read, speak, or watch online, you’re not the customer. You’re the product and the target.

And this isn’t new. Investigations by India Today, The Guardian, and several local media outlets have 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. Yet the business continues. Only now, it’s more online, more organized, and even more normalized. A 2025 report in The Diplomat notes that India’s “publish or perish” culture has only worsened this, pushing thousands into plagiarism, ghostwriting, and fake research to 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. People in Billings Montana need to wake up to what this AI center actually means for the town.
A 1,000‑megawatt‑class AI project doesn’t just “plug in” quietly. It means huge new power demand that utilities try to push into the rate base, which is why regulators and consumer advocates in Montana and other states are already warning that data centers can drive higher electricity bills for regular customers.
That kind of load also increases stress on the grid and can raise the risk of outages if new generation and transmission don’t keep up; federal energy regulators and industry groups have started flagging AI data centers as a blackout and disruption risk if they’re not tightly controlled.
On top of that, AI data centers are built around immense bandwidth and backhaul needs. Network operators are already reporting surging long‑haul and backbone demand driven by AI, and big players are buying up capacity and dark fiber to serve themselves first.
The bottom line: if this center goes through on the terms being floated, Billings is being asked to hand over priority access to power, water, and network capacity, while households and small businesses are left to live with higher costs and tighter limits.
Wake the hell up. Colstrip was the test run for exactly this kind of deal, and you’ve seen how that worked out for the people who had to live with the consequences.
