Was on a bus between St. James' Hospital & Leeds city centre yesterday. I was one of the few white faces on the upper deck. Group of 6 Asian lads (all young, under 16 I'd say) were chatting. Not in English. Struck me then that a common language is better for social cohesion.

@McClumsy84 You said a common language is better for social cohesion - so I’ve made the point about soldiers as remember we went to war “to bring freedom” to those people apparently. How about expats in Spain and Middle East - you think they speak the respective local languages?

@WLU147 Not sure what soldiers have to do with my tweet. A very strange comparison to make. Neither have I said there is anything "wrong" with those young people speaking in a language other than English. It was simply an observation. And an opinion.

There are around 190–220 mosques in Birmingham which they can pray in. Again, this is asserting their dominance.
