You ever notice how some people treat your boundaries like optional reading material? You know, something they skim past until it suddenly applies to them like those checkboxes for opting in for marketing communications via email? For years it’s “be patient, be understanding, don’t rock the boat.” Meanwhile, you’re taking on water like the Titanic with a customer service smile trying to balance multiple projects, keeping the peace and trying to maintain your own sanity without load testing the nearest ceiling fan. But the moment you finally say, “Nah, we’re not doing this anymore,” suddenly you’re the villain in somebody else’s screenplay. Now it’s attitude, now it’s “you’ve changed,” now it’s a whole character assassination tour like I’m up for an award I didn’t audition for. Here’s the punchline: I didn’t change. I just stopped volunteering to be disrespected. Turns out when you remove unlimited access to your time, energy, and patience, people act like you just shut off their utilities. Boundaries aren’t aggression. They’re maintenance. And if that makes me the bad guy, then fine, I guess it's time to roll credits.

May I vent about something? I may delete my self promo channel in my discord server. I truly love celebrating others and supporting my community.. I just.. I dunno.. I am a touch frustrated because the people who post there aren't active anywhere else in my server, hell they don't even visit my streams. They paste their links and go. (To clarify, it is not that they have to come to my streams. I'm just explaining and using it as an example.) It is just frustrating that people just paste their go live stuff there and then that is it. It is like..crickets elsewhere. It's like.. I am sad because I have tried planning fun hang out nights and no one shows up but they just post in the self promo area. That's it. I planned a RE9 night and only 2 people showed up, which isn't inherently bad.. it is just.. Sad. Especially when I put the effort in. I want to do community nights in my server. But how can I when no one really shows but people are quick to use that channel only.. I dunno. I'm sorry for ranting. I just feel.. sad and a bit defeated and a little lonely at times. Am I doing something wrong? Am I not good enough? What can I do to liven up my server? Do I just give up? I don't want to.. 🥺
