Since it's #SelfCareWeek I thought it's be cool to share some history behind the term 'Self Care'. Self Care became a political movement during the 1970s by Women and POC in a way to cope with 'burn out' against a white, patriarchal system that consistently failed them.

We strive for @RoyalHolloway to provide us with a safe space where diversity can flourish and everyone can feel comfortable with each other. When events like these happen, we expect better.

Invited Hopkins would also further marginalise and isolate our minorities throughout the campus. Furthermore, to line her pockets gives her the money and incentive to enable her to spread her hatred around other spaces.

We are opposing and flat out rejecting the plan to provide a platform to perhaps the most well known bigot in this country. To provide a white extremist with space and an audience to spew out her vitriolic hatred would be to set a dangerous president throughout the university.
