@FalkTG Why are U that surprised, arrogant German? U are coming from an extremely boring Germany at the end of the day! I wonder how U realized that Istanbul has a developing infrastructure, btw! Did U participate a public tour in Istanbul sewage system, after searching for gay bars? 🤨

I’ve been in Turkey (Istanbul) for the first time of my life. Some of my observations:
- Istanbul is truly a city of contrasts between Europe and Asia.
- While society is surprisingly young and more Western than one might expect, the presence of Islam is just as ubiquitous as that of Turkish nationalism.
- I felt relatively comfortable there, though unfortunately it was too cold to use the pool. The food is good and affordable.
- Istanbul has a rapidly developing infrastructure. IST Airport is huge, but unfortunately it’s quite far out of the city.
- The people are very friendly; every taxi driver calls you "brother."
- My hotel was near Taksim Square (Gezi Park)—the entire district (Beyoğlu) was closed off for May 1st. Since, unfortunately, many Turks really don’t speak English (especially taxi drivers and police), I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get to the hotel. In reality, nothing happens to you as long as you don’t act aggressively. I was able to get to the hotel normally despite the roadblocks.
- The city has a truly unique location between the seas, the Bosphorus, and the mountains. Many streets are very winding.
- The cost of living are low for someone from the West. As is well known, the lira is cheap. Taxi rides (1 hour) cost only 1,400 lira = €26.
- What really surprised me as a European is how heavily regulated queer life is. There are no Pride flags, Grindr profile pictures are black, and clubs never give their real addresses. For a country that actually wants to join the EU, this is shocking.

English

@BowesChay I won't mind it.. TURKEY HAS BEEN EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR SYRIA, LIBYA , IRAQ, YEMEN, GAZA AND IRAN.
I SUGGEST ISRAEL TAKE ON PAKISTAN BEFORE TURKEY AS PAKISTAN COULD POSSIBLY HELP TURKEY

@WOLFONTHEROCK @MarioNawfal Of course not.
Ottomans were still living in caves at Mongolia 2000 years ago.

🇺🇸🇹🇷 A man in Turkey kept losing his chickens through a hole in the wall.
He broke it down to find out where they were going, and found an underground city that could hold 20,000 people.
Some of the biggest discoveries in history happened completely by accident… Now multiple structures like this have been found.
How many more are still down there?

English

@DFNDbreed @MarioNawfal Idiot! All underground cities in the region are of almost 2000 years! Ottomans have nothing to do with the people living there! They were hiding from paganist Roman Soldiers!
English

@MarioNawfal In order to save your self and your family during Ottoman invasion in today’s-Turkey you had to go underground.
Otherwise you would probably ended up like the 1.5 million Armenians who lost their lives during Ottoman genocide

@KevorkAlmassian This Lebanese better focuses on keeping his country intact and get rid of the occupying forces of Israel. As they think incompetent Macron & FR would be their saviors, they would lose their arse soon to Israhellis. If I were a Lebanese, I would rather be under Turkish umbrella!

💥 Prof. Jamal Wakim Exposes Turkey’s Hidden Role in the War on Iran 💥
Professor Jamal Wakim argues that Turkey’s loud rhetoric against Israel hides a much deeper complicity, because Erdogan’s regional project was never only about Palestine or Syria, but about positioning Turkey for a wider hegemonic role from northern Syria to the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
In this geopolitical reading, the war on Iran was not only an Israeli-American project. It also created an opening that Turkey hoped to exploit. If Iran had collapsed or fragmented, Turkey could have moved more aggressively through the Zangezur corridor, Azerbaijan, and Central Asia, while secessionist pressure inside Iran weakened one of the main barriers to Turkish expansion.
That is why Iran’s resilience blocks not only Israeli hegemony in West Asia, but also the wider project of redrawing the region through Turkish ambitions, Gulf money, and Western strategy.
