@Rykage3 @drumstick27 Most of the SHs unfortunately get reduced to their core personality traits after the timeskip and are still around because the crew needs them to fulfill their duties on the ship, but nothing interesting comes from them writing wise. It’s just really strange storytelling imo.

@Rykage3 @drumstick27 Sure, I don’t disagree with that but OP is genuinely the only story that is like that. When you have already gone through a character arc, there is no reason to keep the character around. That’s why HxH removes Gon and Killua from the story after the Chimera ant arc.

It's easier to just paint people as dumb rather than engage with the source of their criticism, especially when it's fitting, and frankly everyone does this at some point for series they care about cause it's tough to weed out fair criticism from all the agenda posting/slander

Just like there are dumb criticisms towards series, there are equally dumb defenses for series which often end up misrepresenting complaints to portray criticism as people who can't grasp or fathom the themes of a series when that's not really the source of their criticism.

Honestly the ending isn't terrible at all in concept. But it just feels like Fuji wanted to quit. Like there's so much that feels unresolved narratively and thematically. We just have to accept fuji is kinda gross and weird for that shit when it had no point.

Overall it’s really confusing storytelling. You can tell that Fujimoto got tired with his manga and wanted to get to the end quickly, so he threw away a lot of the themes and character arcs that he built up throughout part 2 to force the same message from part 1 onto us.

While those were important themes, the main theme of the manga has always been how someone can achieve happiness as we saw with Makima wanting to create a perfect world without suffering. Denji pushed back because suffering is necessary to appreciate the good in life.

@the_imposter24 @Rainnly_ I can guarantee that if other mangaka had the opportunity to take weeks off to plan their story, they would do it. The manga industry is the only one where artists are forced to drop content every week, there’s a reason why all others don’t go that route

The poor man's rose is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen a shonen manga do. Its beauty accentuates how horrifying it is tenfold, felt like I didn't breathe once while reading this chapter
