So Star Wars was always going to be more than 1 film, not just the OT. (Unless it flopped of course)

These replies are truly insane. Yes, Star Wars took ELEMENTS from Dune, just as Dune did from Lawrence of Arabia.
Star Wars was also inspired by Arthurian Legend, Kurosawa Samurai films and Flash Gordon.
Art doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Star Wars would still exist if Dune didn’t.

No one will ever make me hate this movie. Out of the trilogy, this is the one that I rewatched the most as a kid and it’ll forever be special to me. I don’t care if it’s a messy film, it’s still so fucking cool!
