Today, 3rd graders at Western Trails participated in an immersive plant lesson, first learning about vegetation, and then sowing carrot, radish and green onion seeds in see-through planters that will allow the students to view the root systems as they grow!

Jim “Basketball” Jones helped Western Trails close out the school year yesterday with an interactive school wide assembly featuring incredible hoops tricks and an uplifting message for students to always try their best, do the right thing, be respectful and be responsible!

Western Trails students have planted a variety of vegetation in the school’s highly efficient tower garden, which uses nutrients and 90% less water than traditional gardening to produce plants of all kinds. Yesterday, first graders harvested and enjoyed their most recent crop!
