Washington state is working on banning this btw

Washington State Senate passed "HB 2320" which bans "unlicensed 3D printing, CNC milling and CAD which may aid in firearm production" Many Americans are about to get an unjust Class C Felony Bill is sponsored by Osman Salahuddin, his parents moved here from Pakistan

Solidworks has surpassed Siri as the worst software I have ever encountered. It's literally just not capable of simple math. Insane.

It doesn't throw it away, it just moves it to someone elses computer. There is no reason SE or SW or inventor or any of them cannot make their own versions of a cloud based CAD. biggest downside is the need for constant internet connection, but it would be an instant way to drop microslop, if that was the true goal. I would love a pure CAD PC. something like a console without even a full OS. ONLY used for CAD and CAD like programs (CAM, slicers, etc.)

In the face of a #3Dprinting ban, a popular YouTuber & #AM advocate is challenging lawmakers to visit his print farm first. We spoke to the 3D Printing Nerd himself, @joeltelling, about Washington State House Bills 2320 & 2321, meant to curb illegal #3Dprinting of ghost guns.

If you live in New York, you likely have less than 90 days to legally buy a 3D printer. The so-called “blocking technology” requirement, which functions as a de facto ban has been folded into the state budget. If signed in mid-April, it would take effect within 30 days. The budget is still being negotiated, and this provision could be stripped. But as of now, it is highly likely to remain. There is a committee that could choose not to enforce the law due to the technology being infeasible, but it would still be law. My advice: Buy your 3D printers now while sales are still legal, or be prepared to leave the state to buy a 3D printer later, and understand the risks of transporting what New York may soon treat as physical contraband.
