It has been just over a week since the powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake devastated vast areas of #Myanmar. Hundreds of people are still missing. Children don’t have access to safe shelter, clean water, food and medical care, which are essential for their survival. #Relief #Aid

Our team on the ground is working around the clock to deliver essential relief items—food, water, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking supplies, hygiene kits and more—to help families who’ve lost everything in the #MyanmarEarthquake. This is what hope looks like in action.

Since 1993, World Vision has been working in #Myanmar, forging strong #partnerships with Ministries, UN agencies and local stakeholders. These established #collaborations are critical to ensure a united response that efficiently supports the most vulnerable children and families.

Affected families in #MyanmarEarthquake left without shelter are being supported with hygiene kits and non-food items to help them #recover and #rebuild their lives. We are working to urgently provide #emergency food assistance to ensure families receive essential nourishment.

Even before the earthquake, many children in #Myanmar were already struggling as they were displaced by conflict, deprived of education and facing food insecurity. This disaster has only deepened their suffering, turning an already difficult situation into a humanitarian crisis.

Food insecurity impacted Don’s health, forcing him to miss school to forage for food. But hope bloomed when World Vision’s SNAP project introduced home gardening and fish-rearing techniques. With tools, seeds and training, Don’s family now grows vegetables year-round and raises fish. Not only do they have nutritious food on their table, but extra income to buy essentials like rice.
