@Note_to_sellf @theficouple 1. With a roommate or outside of a city. 2. $100 per week on groceries is plenty for an individual for necessities. Bad budgeters lump in “wants” with “necessities.” That’s why our gov is $38T in debt.

Here's the math: A single person earning $70,000/yr takes home ~$4,500/mo after tax. A realistic budget: -$1,200/mo: Rent -$400/mo: Food - $330/mo: Transportation - $280/mo Utilities/phone - $500/mo: Fun ...Living within their means lets them invest ~$1,600/mo.

Here's the real math: A single person earning $70kyr takes home ~$4,500/mo after tax. A realistic budget: -$1,750 Rent -$600 Food -$125 Home goods/toiletries/OTC meds -$500 Transportation -$150 Car insurance -$200 Gas -$150 Maintenance -$200 Health insurance -$400 Student loans -$450 Utilities/phone -$200 Credit card payment -$50 Haircut -$125 Clothing -$5.45 for one latte a month -$8.95 for one avocado toast a month Assuming median pricing on all of these things, this person, a hermit, who only goes to work and back, has zero social life, no kids, no medical bills or medications, has perfect teeth never needing a root canal, no vacation or leisure time, no holidays or gift giving, doesn't ever buy furniture or cable/netflix, has an employer provided medical plan, thrifts all their clothing, had to go into debt to get an education to earn $70k a year, is still in the hole $414.40 a month. Do not take any financial advice from this person.

@joeyrkaufman You literally limit your possessions at the snail’s pace they played last year. That reduces efficiency. He’s gotta see that, right?

We did it! After 7 months in a row of colder than normal temps, we saw above normal temps in March. The month was extremely warm, finishing at +5.8F above the norm. The maximum temperature peaked at 89F on 5 different days. Dryness continued, running a 5" deficit YTD. #chswx

@notthefakeSVP @OldTakesExposed “I didn’t declare victory.” Might want to wait till the tournament is over first then. :) I am impressed they ran through the easiest path with only first half struggles against incredibly inferior competition. I see you’re still doing your thing, though.

@WX_Eric2018 @OldTakesExposed I didn’t declare victory. I’m just asking how it’s looking after a 33 point elite 8 win in March. They’re still pretty good and you obviously are still doing your thing.

It’s only November, and the old adage about what cbb means in November (nothing) notwithstanding - what Michigan is putting on tape tonight is outrageous. They’re horrifying.

@GuardsFan93 They’re not going to, but my point is there’s no reason to prolong the inevitable. No one believes that Diebler is the guy long term. Why are we dragging it out? That’s the only point. But, you’re right, they aren’t firing him.

@WX_Eric2018 If they totally flop next year and don’t make the tournament, I’ll agree with you. But he improved greatly from last season, now let’s build upon it for next year.

@GuardsFan93 Diebler was Holtmann’s assistant, and the coaching had mirrored Holtmann’s. This wasn’t some guy they brought in from the outside into a bad situation. It was a terrible hire from the start. No need to prolong that bad choice imo.

@WX_Eric2018 Have to remember Holtmann left the program in a horrible spot. Diebler deserves more than 2 years to turn it around. Making the NCAA is a step in the right direction.

@GuardsFan93 He definitely will but he shouldn’t. They beat one good team all year. OSU doesn’t have high standards for its basketball program. That’s the unfortunate reality.

@WX_Eric2018 They looked dead to rights at mid season and they rallied to be a lock for the NCAA tournament. He gets credit for that. A long way to go, but I’m going to give him a chance to build upon it next year. And I’m sure Ross Bjork will too.

@slmandel Jake Diebler. At least he showcased his incompetence on a national stage this time. Maybe the administration will do something about it.

Brutal. Helluva fight in the 2nd half clawing back into it. First half was obviously costly. Now... The commitment to taking a step must be the next thing. Administration take notice. Pour in the resources to the roster. Let this be what wakes us up.
