Got rejected from a tough interview today. Was asked a LeetCode problem (segment tree + monotonic stack). Tried solving it with tree DP but that wasn't enough. Eventually reached the segment tree approach but couldn't figure out the monotonic stack optimization. Learned a lot.

I hear some parents of young kids justify electronics with "oh my kid needs to learn computer skills to get a job" and it's so ridiculous. I have literally no idea what "computer skills" will look like in 15 years but I can tell you it's not using microsoft excel and python.

America, look at this. Australia just told TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and every other algorithm to f*ck right off. Starting December 10, any kid under 16 is banned. No parental override. No “my kid’s mature.” Just gone. $32 million-a-day fines if the apps don’t enforce it. They’re calling it the toughest child-protection law on the planet. Parents down there are apparently cheering because someone finally played the bad guy for them. So real talk from the land of the free: Are Australians onto something… or did they just hand the government the keys to your phone? Would you be okay with this in the U.S., or is it straight-up nanny-state overreach?

I have written to government, i have tried multiple VPNs (they have mapped out the cloud provides and end points) so vpns dont seem to work around it. Only the small or leftist networks seem unaffected, this change is for power and control. I can't support that.
