That was the devastating call former Boston College baseball player Christopher Kowalski received out of nowhere.
He had only subtle signs — a little fatigue and upper rib pain. Then came the news: colon cancer that had already spread to his liver.
His wife told him they had 48 hours to cry, feel everything… then fight. Now he’s turning his battle into a wake-up call.
Doctors are seeing colorectal cancer rising sharply in people in their 20s and 30s. Warning signs can be easy to miss (blood in stool, bowel changes, unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain), but catching it early saves lives — up to 90% of cases are preventable with screening.

🚨HORRIFYING🚨 Jurors will listen to the audio of 7-year-old Athena Strand being strangled to death by FedEx driver Tanner Horner. Horner pleaded guilty to capital murder, but a juror will decide if he should be sentenced to death. Strand told the child, “Don't scream or I'll hurt you,” as he picked her up and put her in his truck. The child tried to fight Strand off during the attack—his DNA was found under her nails. Prosecutors added that his DNA was found, “in places where you shouldn't find DNA on a 7-year-old girl.” The girl’s mother is for the death penalty being implemented.

Tanner Horner told police that Athena Strand was already dead when he put her in his truck
Horner said he tossed her body into the woods after hitting her with his delivery van near her home in Lake Worth, Texas
When asked where Athena was during his arrest, Horner replied, “I can show you.”
“Is she alive?” an officer asks Horner, who says, “She wasn’t alive when I put her in the truck.”
Texas Ranger Job Espinoza testified that investigators believe Horner is lying and that he actually strangled the girl after she said she would tell her father that he had bumped into her with his van
Horner’s defense team argued he suffers from mental illness and lead poisoning as they try to spare him from the death penalty and get him life in prison without parole instead

NYC spent $81,705 per homeless person last year.. the median American household earned $81,228.. the government spent MORE to keep someone homeless than most families earned to keep themselves housed..
that $81,705 isn't going to the homeless person.. it's going to the system around them.. shelters, administrators, case managers, contracts, overhead.. the industry that manages homelessness.. not the end of it..
if NYC gave every homeless person that money directly.. they could afford nearly 2 years of rent.. most of them wouldn't be homeless anymore..
instead the money goes to the system.. the system keeps running.. the homelessness stays.. and every year they ask for more funding to manage the problem that the funding was supposed to solve..
the homeless are worth $81,705 a year to the system..
they're worth nothing to it solved..
