@Saren_217 @SeverusDiomedes The Inquisition, and the Imperium itself is not composed of rational, hyperlogical actors. They're all too human. There are SEVERAL horrendous, horrible, nonsensical, utterly irrational things people have done for absolutely no good reason at all IRL. Real life is "grimderp."

@Wailing_Doom @SeverusDiomedes Yeah if they see shit if they're not allowed to see like chaos, but seeing Grey Knights not them fighting Daemons just Grey Knights is fucking stupid IN universe, this is the same universe where people mistook Necrons for Silver Skulls, there is no risk if someone sees them.

@Saren_217 @SeverusDiomedes Red Hunters and Deathwatch are fine because they aren't running around practicing what is effectively sorcery (moreso than standard chapter librarians) en masse. Also, the second bit about what they fight and how the Inquisition suppresses knowledge of Chaos is more important.

@Saren_217 @SeverusDiomedes There's also the matter of preventing the spread and knowledge of Chaos. The Inquisition's main (flawed) policy against the spread of chaos taint is suppressing knowledge of its existence. Since GKs fight the worst Chaos incursions, expendable assets are judged as a risk.

@Saren_217 @SeverusDiomedes They're a top-secret cabal of sorcerers under the thrall of the Ordo Malleus, the most secretive Ordo Majoris of the Inquisition. Standing orders to murder any expendable assets who fight alongside them to preserve secrecy and purge any lingering taint is thematic for them.
