@ABRACKENBURY @BBCRadioLincs Great piece eh? My Dad took my Mum to a Digolla dance at Martin V Hall near Woodhall Spa just after they started going out. Mum was dubious when she went in. There was no live band, but she loved the night! It just occurred to me that my existence may be due to Ron Diggins.. 😊

Kitchen disco? On Sunday April 13, on @BBCRadioLincs in 'Tim Walker's Folk', @WalkerFolk celebrates a disco pioneer. In post-war shortage, Ron Diggins used frames from metal chairs, welded by local blacksmiths, the undertaker's spare coffin wood & pudding bowls for mirrorballs!

@VolodyaTretyak @DarrenJohnson66 I toured with my band in Estonia 15 yrs ago. The lovely, mostly trilingual Estonians said children learn Estonian, Russian & English in school. Russian lessons were compulsory under the USSR occupation & were now reluctantly taught for ease of commerce. They're also NOT Russian.

Saying a Ukrainian who speaks Russian is Russian is like saying an Irishman who speaks English is English.
