Whenever the dad took his family out to eat, they were only ever allowed to have water to drink. They never asked why that was the case but it’s how it always was. To avoid drinking just water, they decided to start making their own lemonade with the lemons in the water and they used sugar from the packets on the table for the coffee. Whenever you saw anyone do this, was this a creative thing, or are they being cheap and tacky?

Absolutely. As nurses and doctors we need to find a way to meet our patients needs. Translator line, Google Translator, a picture board. Understanding and meeting patients needs is a priority. While it is impotant to learn the language of the country you move to, it’s not the time to discuss it with the person at the hospital. They are there. They need their medical concerns addressed. And it’s the job of the people caring for them to do so.
