@begottensun I always tell people Small scale farmers should just have a good storage and buy maize Kutotengera mubereki 3 tonnes and spare them stress Vodyara havo nzungu, nyimo, pumpkin , ipwa and small grains for fun and kuti vadye zhizha

So we managed to get 3 tons average per HA. We had 4 guys on salary. 3 vemaricho, Expensive inputs and erratic rain. I just agreed with my wife : next year we just buy the maize we need for our animals. 🫵🤣. In SA we will get it under $300 per ton. Only grow your own maize if you are a commercial farmer on above 50ha or you have FUCK ALL ELSE DO with your life 🤣🌽

Congratulations to Zimbabwean legal scholar Dr Justice Mavedzenge on his appointment by the President of Seychelles to lead an independent commission of inquiry in that country. Dr Mavedzenge recently debated the legality of Zimbabwe’s Constitutional Amendment No. 3 being passed without a referendum with Professor Jonathan Moyo, where he came out on top of the argument and helped many people understand how constitutional amendments work. He is a Professor of Law at the University of Cape Town. It is encouraging and inspiring to see compatriots being recognised for their intellectual abilities, and as Zimbabweans, we should celebrate such achievements. I know one that doesn’t have Computers or backup power in this era of Advanced Technology and can’t research online when required to do so. They don’t even have sufficient materials and textbooks for the new curriculum.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting 16 schools across Gweru and Kwekwe Districts in the Midlands Province during a Joint Monitoring Visit conducted with our development partners. These visits were both inspiring and challenging, reminding us that governance in our schools is not a luxury. My focus during these engagements was clear: ✅ Are our teachers equipped with up‑to‑date schemes of work that reflect national curriculum standards? ✅ Are our pass rates on an upward trajectory, giving our learners the competitive edge they deserve? I am pleased to report that several schools demonstrated commendable dedication. Our teachers are working tirelessly, and I salute their commitment. Yet, I must be candidate there is still work to be done. A scheme of work is not a checkbox exercise; it is the roadmap to excellence. Where gaps exist, we will close them. Where accountability is lacking, we will restore it. To every Headmaster, Teacher, and School Development Committee across Zimbabwe, take note: monitoring missions will continue. We are serious about transformation at every level. Our children deserve nothing less than the best education Zimbabwe can offer, and together we will deliver it.
