In 1998, Shewmon published 175 cases of prolonged survival after a diagnosis of brain death, and the numbers continue to build. Brain death is not a biological diagnosis, as these people continue to have vital (life) signs. They have metabolism, wound healing, fight infections, etc. Dead people don’t get better. But people like Jahi McMath who were properly diagnosed as brain dead have improved with continued care. Brain death has always been a utilitarian social construct that deems the lives of people with neurological injury to be less worthy than the lives of others.

After seeing what is going on all across the world with “euthanasia” that results in organ donation, I have made the difficult decision to NOT be an organ donor any longer. My Medical POA will be instructed accordingly. I don’t trust the medical establishment.
