I've got a nagging feeling that Fable could get me started on a great project.. and useing the last free hour on it would change lives. Then I realize that the last advice I got was to not start a project until it's thought out. Fable, or somthing will be there when I wake up from this dream. Good night.

I just released the new version of the Future Tools website... I guess this would be considered v3. Trying to make it more and more useful / valuable for everyone.

I just heard @rorysutherland grouse about tech, using dictation as an example of tech that fall short. Reminded me about the days before computers. How whole letters had to be retyped if there was a mistake or misunderstanding. It was so important to have staff that knew us. And how thankful we now have Typeless. Give it a try Rory. Dictation that knows you.

Every message has a hidden cost — paid before you type a single word. We call it the Mental Drafting Toll. Before a message, an email, or a document leaves your mind, you first draft it internally. You organize your thoughts. Find the right words. Structure the message. Rewrite it until it sounds right. It happens every time you communicate. And we've accepted it as "just thinking." But it's not thinking. Thinking is the fast, messy, creative part. Mental drafting is the invisible work of making those thoughts presentable. And traditional dictation never removed it. Voice typing only freed your fingers. You still had to draft it in your head first — then say it out loud. That's the problem we set out to solve with Typeless 2.0. For the first time, you can skip the mental draft — and just think out loud: Speak in whatever order thoughts come. Add context as it comes to you. Change your mind halfway through. Forget a name? Describe it — Typeless fills in the exact one. It never makes things up. Typeless doesn't just understand your words. It understands your thoughts before they become words — and turns them into clear writing. You think it once. Typeless writes what you meant. Available today on Mac, Windows, iOS & Android. Messy thoughts in. Clear writing out.

@clix81ne there may be noisy datacenters and I'm hard of hearing with windows rolled up most of the time.. but when I think back to 10 years ago when they were building and I went to meetinging in the area, can't remember anything distracting.

I was riding through the 14 datacenter campus by my house and remembered a trusted reporter talking about how great they can be "despite the noise" Funny, I've not heard a sound.. not annoying when I toured the inside. Another myth of the ignorant datacenter bigots.

Wow. Gemini 3.5 Pro is the best model I’ve seen.🔥 >I asked for a polished 3D city block that transforms live between 1990, 2025, and 2070, and it absolutely cooked. -Google, I knew you wouldn’t disappoint. -It’s mogging Fable 5 hard.
Ali Haider@ggg78g89

Gemini 3.5 Pro just pulled off something wild.🔥🔥 >It recreated Steve Jobs unveiling the first iPhone in SVG with scary precision. >The composition, accuracy and tiny details are ridiculous. >DeepMind is in monster mode. -Fable 5 and the rest look nervous.

I went a dinner a few weeks ago with a bunch of enterprise execs who told me "we will never use Chinese models." "Even if it's 100x cheaper?" "No, we care about safety and security." 1. They don't understand when they host open-source models with their own GPUs or US data centers, they won't share their data to China. 2. They are giving away all their data to OpenAI and Anthropic rather than owning it privately themselves. 3. They don't understand math. 100x is a big number and lots of profits. It's almost July 2026 now. If your execs still talk like that, fire them now.

Claude and I researched this. We got the real stats. Datacenter use like 0.1% of total water usage. Any increases, without reducing water usage would be under 0.3%, not as much as gold courses or many other things. The point is.. we won’t run out of water. No matter how much datacenter use, it’s still 99.9% left untouched. Smart to look at local conditions but Here in Vegas, where we really care about water, there are huge waste number in several sectors that can easily account for this small usage and still let us have both gold and datacenter. A non-issue, other than the politics.. obviously fueled by those hanging on to the status quo for their own reasons.

Modern datacenters use less water than a typical golf course. At some point we should have a discussion about which is more important for all of us: What is more important to the quality of our life? AI infrastructure that will improve everything we do? Or a game?
