15 years ago I built Britain’s first electric car, the Nemesis - and a national network of chargers (The Electric Highway) for the electric cars that were coming. All we had back then was 3kW chargers, like a three pin plug and it took hours. But I knew that would change and I foresaw a time when we could charge an electric car in the time it takes at the petrol pump. Within ten years we had 300kW chargers and now, five more years on the Chinese are making MegaWatt class chargers that’s 1,000kW plus - and EV charging is possible in the same time it takes to fill a petrol car. I’m not one to be overly hyperbolic about Tesla but after “driving” a @Tesla Cybertruck with FSD today in Austin my mind is blown. It’s extraordinary. You just can’t believe what @Tesla_AI AI4 and V14 has achieved. @TeslaOwnersUK

I’ve now had my third FSD experience of the last few days in Austin in a hard to secure @tesla @robotaxi (thanks SXSW!) and wow it’s impressive. The interface is good, the car journey itself was faultless and the only weird thing is why is there an observer still. @elonmusk

@hamids Not to “anyone”. Waymo will not allow a UK tourist register for their service as it demands a US phone number. No such requirement for Tesla Robotaxi.

You have to play a lot of mental gymnastics to post something like this, when only the vehicle on the right currently gives autonomous rides TO ANYONE, while for 8 years now we've been told there would be 1 Million+ of the vehicles on the left giving Robotaxi rides, and so far, we've got -0- that a regular user can use.

Finally people are starting to get it. But forgetting that a) this is going to be an extremely well priced car, b) it drives itself. Oh, and c) it happens to be electric too! The only (significant) risk which Tesla is taking is the 2-person format.

I’m amazed he doesn’t have a fancier mode of transport… a coffin is perhaps not quite the right image?! Even a fridge manages to be delivered upright!
